What have you done to your ride lately?

More wiring.. I may be done in May. I am being a little OCD on all this. Today I hooked up my bumper light bar and LED fogs to the Spod, everything in weatherproof connectors and heat shrunk as well as split loom zip tied and electrical taped along the way. Added some more protection to the wires going to the winch as well... didn't like the protection they had. Also did some wiring on the Blue Sea ML-ACR wiring that needs to go into the cab, got them ready to pull through the firewall at least. Spent about 4 hours doing this, so yes I'm probably being overly OCD.
What added protection did you use for your winch terminals?

The terminals themselves are fine, but the wiring running through the radiator support core was the issue. In the past I had put split loom on the wire there, this time I added more split loom and zip tied the wire off the core. I have some door edge guard I will add as well but I couldn't locate it last night, found it after I had cleaned up. I'll do it tonight.

That's why I got all the wiring harnesses & solonoids/ARB compressor/Warn winch for free when I bought a guys ARB locked 3rd a few years back. He blew the winch motor when that wire shorted out.

I mean its been like this for 9 years and shows zero sign of wear.. but I think that extra bit of shielding will be good piece of mind...especially the door edge guard.

Ahh ok. Gotcha. I was thinking it was special terminal caps that protected them from the weather.

Dude I got the rear from had zero shielding on any of his wires. Install looked good except for that glaring issue that almost :flaming: his truck .

damn..scary!! I figure its been a long time so while I'm redoing the accessories I'll also inspect the core wiring (like the winch cables, stereo amp power, dual battery power) and just ensure nothing is wearing.

I ordered some security bolts for the rack so as nobody can easily walk off with my RTT.

I would order a couple extra of the security bits to put them on and off. Just in case.

I have no ambition to work on mine today. I popped the hood with every intention of running that door edge guard and installing the 100 amp relay for the switched fuse block. But that is fading away.

Good call.. I put some security nuts on my lights on the rack and I don't know exactly where the security bit is. lol Thus the reason I said order a couple. :)

I plan to keep one in the glove box and the other will be in the tool box. So it will probably be 3-4 months before I lose them both.

One of the reasons I need to stay away from locking lug nutz. I lost my key once and needed it.

Honestly, 95% of people have no idea what an RTT is still. (not saying you shouldn't lock it down). I get asked about what it is more than my snorkel when I have it on the truck. I blew this guys mind when I took the tent out to show him it. I wouldn't doubt he owns one by now (rich dude from commiefornia who's moving to Texas soon)

I had the lugnut break! It was a cheap Gorilla locking lugnut and the top of it just broke off. I had to drill it out... what a PITA! Since then I only run McGard non locking splined lugnuts.

I just outfitted the Taco with Gorilla lugz before she went down. They have been touched maybe twice in two years and are completely rusted out. Total junk IMO. I figured they were OK because Wheeler's sold them...thats what I get for not researching. The chrome plating is poor at best. Hopefully their steel isn't as shitty as their chrome because I'd like for them to not break on me.
