And this has a plastic zip so if my junk does get caught, it won't hurt as much as my 3 new Carhartt double walled pants that I picked up for $16 each - 'out the door.' lol

Speaking of RTTs I finally felt I had enough ready to go that I opened the tent box.

Drivers side and passengers side panel doghouse panels are in. A pic of the foot space with the brake pedal installed and the gas pedal sitting in place. Need to build a bracket to use the stock gas pedal. Shouldnt be too hard.

First attempt at the air intake tube. Dont think it will get enough fresh cool air here so i moved it out some.

Fuel cell is in and plumbed. Trans cooler is mounted and plumbed.

Walbro pump and vette regulator mounted & plumbed.

Dash pad is in. Steering wheel disconnect is welded in. Need to make an adapter to mount the stock wheel. Gauges are in and wired. Switch panel is in and wired to the main panel. Engine harness in connected. Need to make a couple new battery leads to power the battery disconnect then i should be able to fire it up. Hopefully this evening.

Ill then continue to wire all the accessories (E-fans, lights, etc) and clean up and loom the wires. Its getting closer.

So last night was supposed to be a huge step forward. Made new battery cables. Added all the grounds to the engine/body/frame/etc. Topped off the trans with new fluid. Gave everything a once over. Hit the start button and click...click...click. I guess after 5 years the Diehard Platinum finally shit the bed. I charged it the previous day, but i guess with it sitting on the shelf almost a year (on two separate occasions), it had enough. Even hooked up jumper cables to it and it would turn over once or twice, then click.

Headed to 4WP during lunch to day to get an Odyssey AGM since it fits in the same Ruffstuff battery tray i welded to the chassis.

There went $280.

The 3rd attempt to start it. Fail.

That's depressing, waiting on the engine roar...

Been dreading this post because I know what's coming but... I traded the 4Runner today. I loved it but over the last few months I started finding things about it that annoy me. The seats were extremely uncomfortable and caused all kinds of back pain for me if I was sitting in them over 20 minutes, anytime I towed anything over 2500lbs I hated it, I kept getting steering wheel vibes that I couldn't track down and didn't want to start down that rabbit hole, I was putting a shit load of miles on it and killing the resell, and lastly I was tired of making those big payments and still having 4.5 years of payments left. So I've been looking for a 4th gen 4Runner for the V8 option. After Andy posted his thread on his GX it got me interested in those and I found one yesterday local that was a pretty good deal in my eyes. So now I own a 2005 GX470 Sport. Freed up some money on the monthly payment (and insurance) and took a huge chunk off of the remaining months on the loan.

Ok.. someone find the posts where we took odds on how long @balakay would have the 4Runner. So how long did you have it? 15 months?

When is the Lexus going to Bridgeport or Hidden Falls?

It's probably not leaving pavement until Arkansas. Going to school all summer and starting my apprenticeship in a couple weeks so I'm pretty much not going to have any free time anytime soon.
