What have you done to your ride lately?

I see what you did there...

Got one more tooth to get capped and then HVAC system needs to be replaced. Got 10k saved up for that stuff. After that the trucks next. Washed it in spring because of mold and poor trucks covered again. Problem is "fun" doesn't take priority anymore especially since I got a AWD car that takes me everywhere I want to go camping/kayaking and if I can;t make it all the way I park and hike. The trucks kind of a novelty at this point. Too stubborn to sell it and take the loss on all the parts or I would sell it to help pay for some land.

Any specific reason you did not just yank that crap off so you didn't have to cut your bumper around it? Not like my truck moves but I had zero issues removing all that metal and adding 2 clips for the headlights. It's actually in the bumper install directions to remove that stuff. Seems like a TON of work to keep it so curiosity is getting the best of me.
I have trimmed a number of people's bumpers of all makes so that their bumper doesn't act like a can opener. My trucks radiator support looks like Frankenstein - I stitch welded two floppy halves back on since the headlights were the only things holding the fenders on. When I am done, the truck will be able to cycle completely in its elastic travel without touching any bodywork. :)

One day I'll post the pics of me bashing back my pass fender front bumper support with a 2x4 and sledgehammer. Geese are no joke, especially when you hit them at speed. Only people with a keen eye pick up on my hood gap being WAY off lol

Don't you just hate it when a sharp piece of rebar goes through the sidewall of your tire? Hell, sometimes the hole is even the same size as a screwdriver lol

I know a few guys who have lost spares. Even saved a guy from losing one once. We were doing about 60-70 on the trail and the guy in front of me hit a bump and I watched it fly out of his bed and start rolling into the woods at mach3. He had it sitting in his bed "secured" via gravity. Started flashing my headlights until he turned around. I pointed into the woods and said "about 200 yards that way is your spare". Same trip I think 1-2 guys lost spares from rear tire carriers due to loose lug nutz.

New tires are installed and so far they are creepy quiet after those MTs. They handle pretty good in heavy rain and my steering issues are 99% gone. These do not look "off road" but most reviews say they do well once air down to 12-15 psi. I will see pretty soon.

What size and load range did you end up with?

I ended up with the 265/75-16 in the Passenger load range (all it said so assuming C). I have an hour drive to a customer office tomorrow so I will have a pretty good idea on MPG tomorrow when I get home. It seems State Hwy 281 is a pretty good testing ground for hills, traffic, and wind resistance.

Got six of the eight rock lights mounts welded in place. Only caught my armpit on fire once... and it hurts. I still have the two rear most ones to do yet. Hope to knock them out but I still have to make them. Probably just get them made and install tomorrow and wire up tomorrow as well.
