Ditched the stock fuel pump, figured at 250k miles it was probably due. As usual I had to replace with something better and harder to install lol

Drilled a 3" hole in the bottom of the tank, now that was fun :D

Thanks, I always figure if I have the means I'm willing to help someone out whether it's just storing a part in the shop or helping them with a project. Karma goes a long way!

Do you think it's the original OEM fuel pump? My stepdad replaced his 3 times on our F250. I know because I had to hold the mofo in place while he had to put the bolts in by feel lol

I'm not sure, I've heard of the OEM pumps going for a long time. The previous owner was a younger kid and the title was in his dad's name and he only had it for a year before he couldn't afford the payments lol

I'm going to say it was but not sure, I read that if you get low fuel flow/pressure it will overheat the injectors and melt them causing them to fall into the engine so I wanted to be sure that didn't happen haha. The stock pump is easy to get to it seemed but yeah the mounting bolts are on the other side of the frame, seems like it wound't be too fun to try and swap it, I left mine in place and just capped the line.

Gotcha. My stepdad was always trying to track down a slight diesel leak when it got really cold. I think he blamed it on the pump and that's why it was replaced.

Have you looked into buying the secondary oil cleaner kit for the diesel? My buddy put one on his F350 and he had to change the oil every 40k miles or something crazy like that IIRC.

It's on my list, the wallet is empty at the moment lol

Well I had to break down and take the red truck to a transmission shop after this past weekend in Gilmer. No clue why I changed a perfectly good R151 for an A340. Still waiting on the damage estimate. Somehow the torque converter bolts wiggled loose and stripped the threads in the TC. I’m 99% sure I tightened and lock tited them. Guess the stickies were too much for them.

I did end up getting a car hauler as well last week. At least no more borrowing a trailer anymore. Tow rig is in the near future now and getting closer by the day.

Put in what I hope to be the last third in the Taco. I love Right Stuff and hate drum brakes just a little less today.

Wonder what the underside of mine looks like. Pretty sure I hung on everything getting over that bump. Just glad I didn't rip a KDSS line off!

I didn't think you put that many miles on your Tacoma since you have that Ferd

12k avg per year, I DD the Taco most of the time, the Ferd is more of a house garage queen
