What have you done to your ride lately?

I spoke too soon. This mother was seized like a sombuck. I ended up cutting the cross out and pushing the caps out with the ball joint press. I cleaned everything up and put a fresh coat of flat black everywhere that was rusted prior. I should have bought a lotto ticket today - the cheap broken bolt extractor kit worked like an "As Seen on TV" commercial on getting the snapped off zerk fitting out of the drive shaft. Both drive shafts were reinstalled and everything got enough grease pumped in to get some black crude shoved out. The test drive was great; only issue was I had to hold off swapping CV axles today since it kept trying to rain on me in the drive way.

If you didn't put 40-50k miles per year, that 4R should have all new parts by now...

I am doing better about cutting down my mileage on the 4Runner. So far I am on track this year to only have 25-30k miles. I am going to get back to using the motorcycle for mid week transportation again.

My Taco is a shop queen, the new starter in the box will pile up dust until atleast April 6th.

This is the first year I ever remember coming in under 20k miles. I'm at 17k right now with about 4 weeks left in the "year".

Shizts, it will be in there at least 5 weeks, starter crapped Feb 28th, busy schedule...
I almost thought about dropping it off and letting a shop do it, but one reason why we have always owned 3 autos.

I may order a new alternator as well, and upgrade the wiring, still running the org alt with 130k

I hear ya, but when I was younger my big wheel 80 dirt bike and JC Penny pedal moped the air bags never deployed, and those were not road bikes, so the high milage on the 4R is not necessarily a bad thing.

Nice, my Ford is at 31k, maybe 32k after last week down in the valley, it will be 3 years old in August, the 08 Taco has 130k that's about 16k year for that truck.

Hunting season racks up the miles for me, the rest of the year probably less than 8k, damn I waste a lot of money on good fun, that deer meat probably cost $150 per lb

The cost of a lease, corn, license, and other crap was one of the reasons my Dad did not hunt a whole lot when I was growing up. We hunted for food on the land behind our house (had a hand shake agreement for access) as needed.

The ball joint kit has been one of my best purchases in a long time. I have used it to replace u joints for at least five other people now; plus all three of my own vehicles.

I was supposed to install new EBC solid rotors and Green Stuff pads; but thanks to FedEx not being able to deliver for crap in my area there is an "undetermined delivery" time now. So now I am just hoping to get the parts tomorrow. Then I will install the rotors/ pads along with CV axles at the same time.

Programmed a new remote. It wouldn't take so I had to turn the ignition switch 3 times in the sequence. I don't realy know what that option does but it then allowed me to program the new one. :)
