New shoes are installed. Can’t wait to break them in next weekend at the Jambo.

Second attempt at the sliders don't fit either. Can't say I'm surprised with the way this has been going. But I have a new leg and mounting plate being sent out tomorrow. I'll cut off the rear slider leg and tack the new stuff together on the vehicle. It's an easy fix. Just sucks that I'm not going to have them in for Jambo. But I'm getting some goodies as compensation for all the time it's taken and having to cut them apart and reweld them myself. Hopefully the third time is the charm. Guess I'll know next week.

I would have fixed them the first time.. dude you have the skills. Just make him compensate you with some $$$ and fix it yourself.

The first time would have taken more than I wanted to put into it. The rear frame mounting plate and leg needed to be completely redesigned. Had I known it was going to take 4 months for the new one thiugh, i pribably would have done it. The only issue with it this time is that the rear leg is welded about 1" too far back. I told him I could do it and he said he'd send me the new leg and mounting plate so that I wouldn't have to worry about cutting this one off and it being too short. He offered to compensate me in cash or skid plates. I chose skid plates. In the end, it's not necessarily his fault. Yeah, he took a long time on this last version but Toyota apparently has an unknown amount of different layouts for the KDSS components. He can only design around what he has access to which is somehow different that the layout on mine. We didn't know that at the time. I'm not real pleased with the timeline but he's been more than willing to do what he can to make sure they work for me. And I like the design and functionality of these 10x more than the other offerings. So yeah, if I could go back to August, I'd order a different set. But for where I am now, this sokution so best .even if he gave me a full refund and I ordered a set from someone else, it would be another 4 months of waiting for them.

Hind sight is always 20/20. Hope he gets the new leg to you in time. Are you going to cut off the old leg and weld on the new one or is this a bolt on fix?

I tend to drive my Braille. It still opens and closes. Plus it got tweaked some when it rolled last year at hot springs.

That's Mr Asshole to you
Installed gas tank skid on my lunch break. Super easy install and took about 30 minutes with clean up.
My stock has seen better days.

One thing I didn't consider with this setup is that my 12v port only has power when the ignition is on. So I'm going to see what I can do to remedy that when I get the GX back on Monday so that my radio doesn't shut off when I kill the truck.

Fixed. I now have constant 12v power.

I did some light sanding on the bumper powder coat and cleaned up the rust in the scratches. I also did a little trimming on the rack fairing and sanded it down as well. Both the bumper and fairing got shot with some semi gloss black so they will at least be matching paint.
