What have you done to your ride lately?

I have sillyconed those same ones on my real beadlocks and they are the same ones that are in the Toyota fakelocks.

Replaced a clock spring that should have been replaced 60,000 miles ago. It will be nice to have a horn again.

At the same time it was time to replace the leather on the steering wheel. The leather work was a tedious but I think it’s gonna come out quite nicely. :) Was ‘maning’ The sewing machine lol.

I want to see if there’s extra leads in the clockspring that would allow me to put a push to talk switch between the voice command button and the on-hook/off-hook buttons. I have a boom mic deal for the ham and would love to get a clean talk button. :)

I need to replace the clock spring in my 2006 Tacoma. How bad was it? I just hate dealing with electronics.

Easy peasy just don’t do like I did. I was a bit wiped and unplugged the airbag before I disconnected the battery - I wanted to listen to tunes as long as I could.

Then I took the wheel off without marking its position. I put the wheel back on and drove around the block. I lucked out - I had a second chance. :)

I bought an OEM one online for less than $50.

Easy peasy as long as you don’t do like me.

So nice to have a horn again. I will say, not having a horn certainly made me a very defensive driver on road.

I completely forgot that the steering wheel buttons were backlit!

Does anyone know if there are spare conduits in the clock spring? Was there ever a Toyota model with the same steering wheel that had a button that goes between the on hook/off hook buttons and the voice command button?

My nice, new, BMW like leather wrapped steering wheel. :)

Now that I’ve taken the thing off about 3 times, it’s real easy - It’s like the sub-4 minute mile. Once you crack the barrier for the first time, it’s like fucking a goat, the first time is the hardest.

The more I think about it, I may just use the MODE switch - I hate that switch! lol

Saved for future purchase. My steering wheel finish has been chipping off the past year or so.
Certainly a better use of time!! :) I think that took me about 8 hours! $200/8 - I could have worked the streets for a few hours and then it would have been an hour task - Order wheel, remove and replace. :)

Oh no. I bought a $9 bag of leather remnants and some leather glue from Hobby Lobby. I've done a good bit of upholstery - the woman that owned the farm I worked on as a child had a upholstery biz. Anything from restoring antique buggies to home furniture. I suffer from wanting to do everything myself. Really I should just focus on making money and employ others!!! lol

I am pleased with it but like anything, I think my next one will be cleaner - when I do another in 10 years!!! lol

Tell you what; come on over and swap it out while I rebuild the drive shaft. Will make a wrench day of it and toss in some beer and barbeque.

That's Mr Asshole to you
Got some parts coming this week for a few upgrades. Uniball for @Silverback old TC UCA. Already have the bushings so they will be like a new set. These will get installed just in time since my bushings on the stock UCA are popping more and more.
Also have the solid bearing from ECGS coming to replace the needle bearing.
Finally have some new rear springs coming that are a bit softer than what I have.
