Order some TC LCA's while you are at it.
Not for $1800. I would do gears before thatOrder some TC LCA's while you are at it.![]()
You weren't kidding about sticky that lube is! Stuck to everything!Use lots of lube! Recently (while replacing my leaf spring bushings) I found the absolute best lube. Wheeler's included it in the bushing kit for the leafs. I got some on my hands and could NOT get it off no matter how hard I tried. It's VERY thick. Perfect for stuff under the truck where water would normally wash it out. I contacted them and figured out where I could get a larger quantity instead of the tiny little squeeze tubes. Link below.
Got some parts coming this week for a few upgrades. Uniball for @Silverback old TC UCA. Already have the bushings so they will be like a new set. These will get installed just in time since my bushings on the stock UCA are popping more and more.
Also have the solid bearing from ECGS coming to replace the needle bearing.
Finally have some new rear springs coming that are a bit softer than what I have.
I dont think my needle bearing is bad yet but figured if I am working on the rig in that area it's a cheap enough part to go ahead and do it.Taco has a TSB for the needle bearing now. Have not called about mine yet, so I don't know what it covers.
Wait...needle bearing in the 4R?I dont think my needle bearing is bad yet but figured if I am working on the rig in that area it's a cheap enough part to go ahead and do it.
Bearing puller? I think you got that from Luke on TW.Wait...needle bearing in the 4R?
PS: I still have the bearing puller tool of yours. Happy to bring it back and or help out if you need anything.
Oh shit that's right. I think it was the coil over spanner you let me borrow (that I DID return).Bearing puller? I think you got that from Luke on TW.
Yes the 4runner has a needle bearing. I think it's better than the Tacoma but the part is cheap and I will already be working on it. Casey has the puller as well and I think we are going to try and knock it out this weekend.
I have my spanner wrench so you are good there. If you need Luke's info let me know.Oh shit that's right. I think it was the coil over spanner you let me borrow (that I DID return).

Let me check, but my solid bearing is being delivered tomorrow. Is it a different part number? I still have mine. - Probably the only thing I haven't changed!![]()
Looks like it is the same part number. Only reason I ordered is because the needle bearing on my tacoma went out around 75K miles and I have 60 now.Is it a different part number? I still have mine. - Probably the only thing I haven't changed!![]()
What was the symptom? Noise? I can't hear much over the KM2s!Looks like it is the same part number. Only reason I ordered is because the needle bearing on my tacoma went out around 75K miles and I have 60 now.

For any of you that replace the bushings in the OEM LCA's - I would put an outer sleeve on those puppies when you have them apart. The TC lowers may be overkill but the OEM has weakness that could be bolstered with a little metal and weld rod.![]()
