What have you done to your ride lately?

Going to be all fancy and stuff. Any guess as to the mileage hit?
I don’t think it will be much if any, it looks like at 65/70 I’m turning less rpm? So we will see I guess. I’m leaving at lunch today and driving up to Oklahoma, guess that will be a good test.

Ok, I have driven it about 100 miles now, highway and dirt roads. The ride is a little better then stock IMO, the new tires have pretty much zero road noise compared to the stock Michelin‘s. The only thing bugging me is my Speedo being off 5mph so unlike the Taco I’m actually going to fix this and already have a fix coming from Hypertec. I also noticed at highway speeds that the stock steering dampener does not like the 35’s very well so I ordered a heavier super lift one from 4WP this morning (Bilstein does not have one out for ‘17+ that I could find) And to help make up for any lost mpg/power (and mostly because wtf not) I have a stealth module on order that should be here Monday.
Just remember that on front axles (as I'm sure you know way better than me), if you run nitrogen steering dampener, then you have to run two of them. On the Fords, the nitrogen dampener likes to pull to one side.
My buddy that installed the bilsteins on his F350 ran into the same issue and I think he just got another OEM/Rancho steering dampener to put in.

From what I saw that was only recommended on 4+ inches of lift, but I’m not sure on the nitrogen part of it. If this single doesn’t do the trick then I’ll get a double set up for it. Last damn thing I need is for a “death wobble” to kick in when Sharie is driving.

The death wobble is how my buddy figured out he needed to replace the dampener. He said the same thing about his wife driving his truck and that happening.

Don't know if I just need to man up and hit it harder or what. Current photo

Also, more rust on the LBJ snap ring than I would think for only having around 10k.

Yeah, I watched those yesterday. Finally got tired of pussy-footin around. Flat head screw driver and engineering hammer did the trick!

Now I gotta figure out how to get the removal tool behind the needle bearing. I thought that was going to be the easy part! Probably is. I'm just going to watch the video one more time to see if he does anything special getting it in.

Just topped it off (only burned a 1/2 tank coming up here) 18mpg running 75 the whole way. And that’s pen/paper/gps figure truck comp says 13.5. That should improve once I put that module on and get my Speedo fixed.

Got most everything done last night around 10:30.

Just had to torque down the caliper bolts, LBJ knuckle bolts and axle nut this morning before putting the wheel back on.

Drove about 100 miles today to pick up a color matched ARE top. No issues observed.

ECGS bushing, new OEM axle seal and Dorman hub/bearing assembly installed.
