What have you done to your ride lately?

Dropping mine off tomorrow to get the fucking door ding fixed and the get the front windshield ceramic coated. They said they would detail it... great.. its supposed to be raining cats and dogs. LOL

Door ding already?!?! I use a glass sealant on my windshield and it's fucking great. No need for windshield wipers if I'm going over 40mph. I imagine the ceramic will be much better.

Oh well, hope to get around 40k out of them before I have to replace them.

Meh.. you aren't gonna beat on it.. just get them rebuilt as long as they don't physically break. I tell you what... and unloaded 3/4 ton with new suspension on rough country roads sucks! Smooth pavement its awesome. But damn. I miss the Taco's ride on the country roads. Those rubber infused rear shackles seem like a good idea about now. Along with some adjustable Kings F&R. :D

I'm telling you... nothing beats Carli Suspension. I've ridden in a few 3/4 and 1 ton trucks with different high end setups and both of the Carlis were leaps and bounds better. They were both Dodges but I can only assume their Ford stuff is just as top notch.

But at $8k+ for a 4.5" kit, it's kind of ridiculous.

Yeah I’m afraid those rear leafs (increases payload by 900lbs) I just put on, maybe too much, hence why I didn’t cut the axle bolts

Oh I thought I mentioned this. So last Wednesday when I picked it up it was pouring down rain... didn't really get to do a walk-around (not that it would have done any good for this). Anyhow, I get home. Rain stops. I am looking at the truck and FUCK.. I went from the dealer to the house. Ding on passenger side door. So I called and said "Hey, I just got it and this was not from me". He says they will fix it.. fuck yeah. Its big. Someone knew this was there and didn't do shit about it. Not impressed. But two co-workers have newer F-150's and they said this dealership is really good about fixing shit like that. We'll see.

My OME Dakars w/ the extra leaf are getting pretty wore out. 11+ years old, have pulled a lot of trailers with them. I would like to get those new Dakars designed for having an extra 600 lbs in the bed at all times (which I probably do).

Can't have nothing nice.

I hit a log on my road that came up and somehow managed to hit the bottom of the passenger door (around the steps) and dent it in. It's still dented lol

This thing has those auto retractable steps. Wish there was a way to make them stay out when parked. Would somewhat help prevent door dings. The one I got I doubt, it was probably from another F250.. its up there. But for most parking lots it would help.

There is some shit called Forscan that let's you reprogram shit like that using a bluetooth ODBII and a laptop

The EBC green pads did not last long on my 4Runner. I swapped them out tonight and dropped in some Bosch quiet ceramic pads. Stopping is important; but stopping before I plow into something is more importanter.

Crawled around under the truck today to Dsee what all I need to add to my plan to tackle in this thing. Not in any specific order:

Exhaust (rusted to shit)
Steering rack bushings (cracking)
Carrier bearing (trashed)
U joints (they're fine - just changing because they're cheap)
Transmission filter, fluid, and gasket
Transfer case fluid
Diff fluids
LCA bushings need addressed soon
UCA bushings (because might as well do it all at once and TC aren't happening soon)
Upper ball joints (lowers are fine)
Windshield fluid reservoir

I'm sure the list will grow but these are the major things I have to work on before I can have any fun with this thin . Hoping to knock it all out over the next few months and be able to take a trip this fall.

I was thinking about this yesterday....

...haven't you had the Tacoma and the Civic for a while now? All of a sudden because you get the Tacoma running you have to ditch the civic? I would pitch the reliability and gas mileage of the civic as a daily driver and the utility of the "work truck" for house projects and camping trips. Get the Tacoma the cheapest liability only insurance you can find and keep both. While none of the things on your list are "major" (meaning you should be able to do them all yourself), it's still a decent sized list.

That sucks! Those things are not cheap for what they are. Good to know though. I've always wondered if they were worth the "upgrage." I guess not....

I dont care to keep the civic. Sure 35mpg is great but with bad knees, the clutch is a bitch and a half if I drive more than 30 minutes or so at once. I'd rather put the money toward buying 5-10 acres sometime next year. Not to mention they're having problems with oil dilution in these 1.5T engines and Honda isnt doing shit about it. Just calling it normal and brushing it off.

Do you have it? Shit is cheap.. like $5 on the app store! Add a bluetooth ODB2 port adapter and you are set.. or so it appears.

I never had the rear metal bumper tire swing-out "bounce" going down the highway with my old Dakars because they were worn out. My new Dakars are nice and stiff so I get that rear end bounce going down the freeway which gets annoying.
