What have you done to your ride lately?

Replaced the CV/diff seal today because it was still leaking after last time. Hope I got it this time....While I was doing it I noticed that there is play in my wheel with a clunking noise when I wiggle it at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions. Up and down (12 and 6) is tight. I'm thinking that must be a sign for new tie rods? What do y'all think?

Jack it up and wiggle the tires left to right. Might also be the rack.. but most likely tie-rods.

Wiggling left to right produces the movement and clunking sound. Wiggling up and down is tight.
Go with OEM tie rods. The after market "almost goods" are not almost as good. Just do it right; your life may depend on it.
Oh yeah, I had no intention of getting anything other than OEM parts.

And while you're at it, you might as well replace the inner tie rods as well.

Got the driver's side all torn apart except the UCA and LCA. Going to have to loosen up the steering rack before I can get the rear LCA bolt out. And just ran out of time to get the UCA off. Hoping I can get them off and the passenger side torn apart before I have to go to a wedding tomorrow afternoon. Then I can start cleaning everything up and reassembling. Trashed my tie rod in the process of removing so I'll have to order some new ones. May take the opportunity to replace the hubs and wheel bearings as well while it's all apart.

Do you still have the Honda as a DD?

Good call.

Got the CV swapped and a new axle seal put in. The CVJ Reman axle looks way more beefier than the parts store offering.

Does it look beefier enough to justify the cost?
I think so since its still an OEM shaft. I am now thinking I will buy the boot kit from them and rebuild my leaking shaft. Then put that on my driver side and keep my driver side as an OEM spare. When I calculate the $30 shipping of my core to get $95 back I would rather keep it and rebuild it with the high angle boot kit.
I did not pick the cheapest route to fix my CV but this will keep OEM parts on my truck and provide a spare.

I have noticed my house battery dropping in voltage and the last week it cant even last a day after sitting on a charger all night. Get it tested at O'Reilly since that's where I bought it and it was bad. Swapped it for a group 24 marine deep cycle. Hoping the deep cycle will be better with the fridge running from it.

Link to the high angle boots? The one I bought was junk and wallered itself out after a year.
