Duralast/Dorman LCA has a lifetime warranty. Figure the clunk I've had might be from a defective product. Having my wife back the truck up with the wheel at an angle, the noise was definitely coming from that area.

Figured swapping it out with a free replacement part wasn't a bad idea in the process of elimination. Initial test drive had no clunk, so hopefully that issue is resolved!

That's Mr Asshole to you
Pre trip prep. Tire rotation, grease zerks, lube UCA uniballs, check diff fluids, oil, and washer fluid. Check bolt torque on suspension components and cleaned out the inside. Put together a tool roll with most everything I would need to work on my truck in a pinch. Waxed the front to make bug cleanup easier.
Leaving on Friday for Colorado but the 4runner will sit in the garage for most of the week while I travel to Komifornia for work.

Messed with FORScan on the 250. Turned off the horn double honk when truck is running and I step out of the truck. Also enabled the DPF percentage in the instrument cluster, numerical temps above the engine coolant gauge, and the ability for the fogs to be on with hi-beams. I backed everything up first and everything worked like a champ. Very easy to do. Wanted to enable the mirrors to fold when I set the alarm but for the mode I want them to work in will require some wiring work in the mirrors. I'll tackle it later. Have a couple other items I want to change as well (disable chime when seatbelts are not latched for example)... another days project.

Problem is that its just not the ECU... there are like 40 different control modules (on the 250.. no idea about the Taco).. shit even a power steps control module. It monitors them all.

Yeah it sucks. I spent about $900 the other month totally replacing or rebuilding my front end.

Also, stay away from Moog parts. The quality isn't there anymore unfortunately.

X2 from what Ive "heard".

I replaced my entire front end with Moog but about 2k later the engine imploded so I can't speak to their longevity, but their BJ's & TRE's boots are greased at the factory with stuff that might be a step above elmers glue. I purged that crap out and filled it with Mobil-1 before I even installed them. Also their BJ's are designed like crap for the Tacomas or at lease they were 5 years ago lol. The rim of the BJ seat is so large the cup I used to pull the OE BJ's can't be used to replace the Moog BJ's becasue the new BJ seat covers that area. Basically once you put a Moog BJ in - good luck getting it out. Not like our LCA's can handle multiple rebuilds without cracking, rusting, and falling apart anyway.

Pulled this Hypertech pos out of my dash (speedo correct) and used Forscan to change the setting to a factory "equivalent" size. Hypertech is supposed to be refunding me since their deal crapped out after a few thousand miles. Apparently they have it built in where it stops working and you have to reprogram it ( I'm sure I'll have to pay eventually) so fuck them.

Quote it all from Camelback Toyota online parts store. Those prices do not look too far from what I paid for Toyota parts when I redid the front end on my 01 4Runner.

Yeah I had my mechanic press in new Moog LBJ's into my LCA's before I got my TC LCA's and he said he'll see me back in a few months because the Moog LBJ's were no where near as good as the OEM ones.

And my Moog outer tie rod's were trash. They lasted like 6 months.

Ive got nothing but good things to say about Camel back Yota.

Now on the other hand Toyotapartsdeal.com can suck it. They messed around with me when I ordered my fuel pump twice and strung the issue out for weeks. I'm usually pretty good to deal with but I was almost screaming on the phone w/those guys and it's not because I needed it quick. They just totally dropped the ball w/my order twice. I think they are just a reseller/middleman.

Immediately after ordering my parts yesterday, I went for a drive and my driver door lock started making a horrible noise. Guess I’ll need a new actuator in there. Wooo.
