What have you done to your ride lately?

Ok, just used the above image to lookup the codes.

P0300 - misfire on multiple cylinders
P0172 & P0175 fuel too rich

So again, hopefully those are just the initial "holy smokes" (get it?) reaction to burning off the gunk.

I should also mention that I had just gotten back from a ~5 hour drive, so the engine was good and HOT. I figured that would be better than just warm. That said, I waited a bit for it to cool down so that I wasn't introducing a cold liquid onto a super hot engine. That may seem contradictory to say that it was good and hot but that I waited for it to cool down. Perhaps I should have said that with it being hot, I was certain that the buildup would be thoroughly heated as opposed to just the top or bottom. I let the engine cool some so that I reduced risk of damage.

I am about 400 miles from my next oil change. Figured it would be good to have that ready to be done.

You plan to add it in with the oil/fuel too? I did, but did not push any through the intake on my 302, I need to cause its pretty gummy.

I have not done fuel yet.

I did put 4oz in the crankcase about 300 miles before the last oil change and it got rid of a ticking (sticky valve) sound that I had.

Figure I'll do the crankcase again this go round. Then maybe fuel after a few hundred miles just to see how each impacts fuel consumption individually.

Got my wife's Volvo windshield replaced finally yesterday. Also did the paperwork for our new Volvo and cut them a check for what we owed. We aren't going to pick it up in Sweden like we planned before the chinaflu. So hopefully it will be here in a month or two. The SUV was made in May and has been sitting in Volvo's storage warehouse since. I can't wait to park the truck this winter and start working on it in the cooler weather.

I've been so damn busy that I just realized this morning that Labor day gun sales are coming up and we just drained the "play" fund to pay for our new car and upcoming vacations. :facepalm:Oh well, everything gun related is OOS for the most part so I'm hoping I won't miss any good sales this year.

2020 XC90 R-Design T5 (wife didn't want the T6 AWD).

I really like the wife’s Xc-90. It’s fucking awesome. We got the Inscription T6 and with the amount of rain we got today and had to be out in it I was happy we had it. One thing that gets me is with all the tech this this has, Power tilt/telescope steering wheel is not offered. LOL. First world problems. But I love this thing. Not more than my trucks. But it’s nice. You will be happy.

Tried to have a hypothetical conversation with the service writer at Subaru today before my car goes in Tuesday and my head hurts now. I simply asked if my wheel bearings were in deed deemed "defective" (I know they are shot for sure) if the 4 wheel alignment I also scheduled would be covered by the wheel bearing warranty and he kept saying no and "that it is not normal practice". I just got done looking online and it seems like half the Subaru techs says it needs to be performed after wheel bearing replacement and half say no......Ill need to do some more research, but this could be interesting.

Now I could always say that I just had the car aligned and they spotted the bad wheel bearings so theoretically Subaru would need to align them if they were aligned to bad bearings previously. Not trying to scam or get anything for free - just want to be sure I'm not double paying/getting taken. Sadly Subaru provides little info to the public.... (try finding a Chilton/Haynes manual on one) so finding their official processes w/o having someone on the inside is harder than normal.

It's my wife who needs to be happy since she'll be driving it mostly lol and I kept trying to talk her into the T6 for the AWD but she didn't want the worse gas mileage.

Subaru is officially under the knife. Waiting for a phone call regarding the wheel bearings and suspension Ive claimed are defective (under warranty).

On my way there this morning the idiot light came on for low PSI lol

Perfect timing

3 of 4 wheel bearings bad and the alignment is not covered. Now I have 15k left of warranty to blow out the 4th lol

How many miles on that POS?

How many miles on that POS?

82k so I really have 18k or 4 more years to blow it. at least my cracks never got any worse.

One thing that pissed me off is that Subaru has no reliable standard for checking shocks other than "it's not leaking". I know my shocks are shot, but they only visually inspect them for leaks. For all I know they could be charged with gas - thus never leak any fluid.?.

The morning I dropped it off I showed the service writer they were blown by doing the push test that I consider to be valid.... I pushed it down from the hood with both of my hands and leaned my body weight into it for good compression on both front corners. To me if it bounces more than once - they are crap and need replaced. They bounced more than a stripper with DD's horseback riding. To me that means 'blown' especially since it bottoms out all the time now on small bumps in the road. Reminds me of my new Tacoma that couldn't handle the weight of a 300# snowblower in the bed until I got new leaf springs.

Maybe it's time for an e-mail to corporate. Subaru North American HQ is less than 10 miles from me so worst case I could take a drive
