What have you done to your ride lately?

Yep. I wanted to get the most out of the 15W radio and the center of the roof is the best place to mount an antenna. It’s not so bad when the antenna is only 3.5” tall

You planning to take the antenna off and use a rain cap when not using the radio?

No, I don’t see any reason to not just leave the antenna on all the time. It’s still lower than the FM antenna so I’ll be able to tell real easily if it’s ever at risk of garage rash

Got the oil changed in the Ferd today, also washed it and had it inspected. Will get the Tacoma inspected tomorrow. Its only 4 months late.

That's Mr Asshole to you
Did a little tire clearance work today. Trimmed some plastic, melted part of the fender liner with a hair dryer, and beat a little part of the pinch weld back. No test drive yet since I was hungry and dinner was waiting on me.

It will do that tomorrow. Might put 2 miles on it.

Installed energy suspension core support bushings. Turns out I found a new use for my OEM jack. Used it to push the drivers side core support back a tad by pushing back on the front bumper for leverage, moved just enough to get the damn bolts in. I am thinking that the drivers side core support was probably a little tweaked (1/4" or so) from having the dual batteries in there. Good news is no sign of any sheet metal or core support cracking.

Picked up all new hardware since the old bolts were just a little bit too long. The aftermarket bolts I had for the body lift were too long and they did not have enough threads on the shank to tighten down the body mount fully. A trip to the hardware store to pick up two 3/8-16x5.5" long grade 8 bolts and that problem is solved.

Old bushings have seen better days so I'm looking forward to the front end not shifting around quite as much.

I've got a set of those bushings out in the garage waiting on me. lol My OEM ones didn't look too bad so I haven't made it a priority.

Took the Taco in to get inspected. Same place I had it inspected last year. I asked the guy how many miles I had on it last year when they did the inspection. 121376. This year it’s 121681. lol

Not gonna be funny when that ethanol gas changes to a varnish formation in your tank and fuel system.

I started putting Stabil in it after I got the Ford. This year I did let it get down pretty low and then filled it up not too long ago, again with stabil added.

I just did the 12 month oil change on my Bimmer. I drove it 1,616 miles in the past year.

In other news, my larger antenna arrived today and I’m interested in playing around to see how much of a difference it makes compared to the stubby antenna.
