What have you done to your ride lately?

hows the new gas engine?
So far so good. It only has 90 miles on it right now, fuel mileage is around 17-18 average. Running 18oo @ 70mph. Has plenty of get up and go so we shall see how it does once I have more miles on it and tow. I'm not a fan of the michelins that are on it, kinda loud IMO.

Just got it today, so I've only put rain x on the windows, removed the 4x4 decal and swapped all my work shit over to it. Selling the F150. This new one is a 250 with the new 7.3 gas. Other then the gas, 10-speed and short bed it's literally a 2022 version of my old 2017.View attachment 37364View attachment 37365
I did dig out the chrome center caps I had factory on my 17' and put them on it....bling bling lol

I contemplated trading mine in on a 21 that had the 6.7 and 10 speed. It was also a Platinum but in gray. My buddy has a 21 F350 6.7/10 speed and he said that trans is awesome.

Made some sweet love to the Taco today. Installed bed stiffeners from Cali-Raised. Wanted to go TC but for the $$ and free shipping and supporting a Texan company.

I am impressed the bearings have not blown out before now. What axle are you going with? Please say portals F/R.
8.4 w/ARB and 8.4 w/ARB went back in it. 🙂

and supporting a Californian company who moved to Texas.

I do not like Cali-Raised.

Even before I ordered anything from them....I read that they ripped off a bunch of designs from other companies. Their ditch light brackets are essentially a direct copy of the Rago ones. I think there was a legal battle of it. Rago moved their shop from somewhere out West - I think either California or Nevada - to somewhere around Kerrville, TX. A few years later, Cali-Raised moves to FTW.

I ordered my antenna mount from Cali as part of their black friday sale a few years ago. I was pumped after watching the YouTube videos on how "functional" its design was, and how much "thought" they put into it. They tout how it follows the body lines and contour of the truck. So in my head, i'm thinking "Cool. I'm supporting a US business, and the product is going to be AWESOME." Instead, I got a flimsy piece of shit metal (guessing chinese steel) that couldn't be used with the camper top. If it extended like 1/4" further out, it would have been no issue. I reached out to their customer service and got no reply. I tried reaching out to them via TW PM and tagging them in posts and got no reply. So I was stuck with a $20 piece of shit chinese steel with some fancy bends.

I sell the camper top and think "I can finally use that antenna mount!"

I can't close the tailgate without scraping the paint off.

If you really want to support a Texas company that is Veteran owned and operated and designs their own stuff, look at Rago Fabrication.

Took the coilovers this morning and had the coils reinstalled on them. Had time to get one coilover installed and get the passenger side of the front end put back together. Had one hang up when installing the spindle with the TC gusset attached. The ball joint on my SPC uppers do not have enough thread to allow the stock castle nut to thread on far enough to get a cotter pin through the bolt. Obviously the gussets are built around TC UCAs which use a uniball so it's as simple as swapping bolts to get enough thread to make up for the extra 1/8" of the gusset you now have to clear. My temporary fix is a nylock nut and a touch of blue loctite. The nylock goes on just far enough to get some engagement between the threads and nylon. I ordered some low profile M14x1.50 castle nuts from Belmetric but I'm not exactly sure how much shorter than the stock ones they are. Hopefully the nylocks will hold until they get here and I can see if they'll work. If the low profile castle nuts still aren't short enough to work I guess my only option will be trading someone for their stock spindles since I have no interest in swapping over to uniball UCAs.

Whats the beef with uniballs? I’d take them over the SPC junk arms any day of the week. You can swap them out for rebuildable units from EMF if you’re worried about wear.

I've had two sets of uniballs. Nothing I did could make them stop squeaking and they never allowed enough adjustment to get a proper alignment. Plus I have KDSS so no need for super duper flexy stuff on my truck.

I would get them for the strength over the flex, doubt the uniball would ever benefit me so much that I got the extra flex a ball joint didn't provide. The key to keeping them quiet is to use a dry lube about once a month, I use tri flow. If the squeaking bothers you that much, just turn the radio up I saw you spent all that coin on the new system :beer-toast1: . I would not be driving around much without at least one thread showing past the UCA bolt, that will end up killing a bus full of nuns in a hurry.

Yep, I have had Uniballs for 95k miles. Replaced once, used Tri-Flow on the first set. Don't notice on the second.

Burned in some diff armor while I had the fluid drained, and replaced the axle seals/o-rings, reinstalled the axle shafts back on the truck. All that's left to do is install the brakes and refill the differential fluid up.

Don't mind those u-bolt rust, those are ruff stuff bolts I put on last year. Guess they don't put any kind of rust inhibiter on them.
