Locker worked great over the weekend the couple of times I needed it. The power ports in the cargo area worked the way I wanted them to; now I just need to put in a clean mounting plate for them. The fairing handled the crosswinds and headwinds great on long trip so I am pretty happy with the design and placement. Now to knock out some maintenance and finish some welding projects.

Knocked out a large portion of building the hitch rack today. I never make something simple or flimsy so this one is going to pull out away from the hitch when I want to open the rear hatch. This way it will ride close and tight going down the road/ trail but still allow me to open the hatch without having to remove the whole rack. The mount is made out of 2x2 11 gauge tube so it is plenty sturdy. The cargo rack is made out of 1x1 tubing with a 2x1 tube in the middle to provide the primary weight support.

I still need to do the final burn in on everything, add a railing, and finish the slide out part. I will probably add some turn/ brake lights so as to keep any cops from wanting to talk to me.

Probably a light like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YHY10XQ/ref=psdc_15730331_t1_B004QHGFIY

So I found one really annoying issue so far. The base is not square so it is not even with the bumper. Nothing touches or rubs; it just annoys me so far.

Didn't notice until you pointed it out, then I eyed fucked it, yep it's crooked like a politician and I can't stop looking at the rack, next time just call it good, it will be fine

The rack is going to have some bracing.

I noticed it but thought maybe it was just the angle of the picture or something.

I thought it was the angle of the pic at first too until I started getting further along in the mock up stages. It will work for now and will most likely get corrected after the High Water trip. I have too many irons in the fire to back up and redo anything right now.

The basket will be square to the slide, the slide is square to its mount. I am going to cut off the bottom 2x2 tube and weld the upper part to a new tube sqaure.
