Which is what led me to the idea of a pin to pull to remove the bottom of the link and then detaching the end of the sway bar. This would leave nothing to damage anything else and still allow for sway bar use when on road.

Seems like a lot of work for not much extra droop, looks like you're already using extended links?

The pieced together stuff from MT on T4R. They are iffy and not exactly "quick" in my opinion. I might be better off just running extended links like I have in back.

I found this one the other day for FJ cruisers. It's labeled MonsterRides scotts sliding swaybar links. Apparently they are really expensive and made in Australia.

How about just removing the center section and leave all the mounting stuff alone, it will allow each tire to act independently.

It is in a bent shape and I am afraid it may try to strike the steering rack and pinion. That could quickly be a problem.

If it has some sort flange past the frame mount, it would stay in factory mount

Apparently the 2nd gen Tacoma sway bar links are much longer than the 1st gen Tacoma links. A few people have said they just installed them without issues. That would resolve my lift/ sway bar issue and would still allow for resolving the quick detach part.

I made my own the other week...haven't been tested Offroad but they were less then $50 if I recall correctly and they eliminated the body roll (I removed BOTH sway bars a LONG time ago)

Edit: seeing these just reminded me I need to do the "boot stretch" mod (new CV's on both sides)

I was debating cutting all the sway bar/ link posts out and making them into a seperate useful thread. Good info being put up but buried in a build thread.

Maintenance day @ 270,000 miles:

1. Motor oil w/ filter change
2. Front and rear diff fluid change to Lucas
3. Windshield wiper blades
3. Motor air filter
4. Cleaned battery terminals and checked the charge on house batt
5. Check and adjusted accessory belts on motor
6. Visual inspection of brake pads after Ozarks

Everything looked good or as expected from the Ozarks. I will probably replace/ upgrade my pads next oil change. Diff fluids were from initial installs with cheap fluid; putting in the good Lucas stuff now. No water was in either diff - always a good thing after all those water crossings.

25" LED flood/ spot combo light bar ordered to mount flush with the grill and some amber LED rock lights. I am hoping to take advantage of some time coming up to get them installed. I know once December gets here I will be busy with work, BBRSP trip prep, and getting the UCAs installed.

LED light bar has been installed. Overall time was about 5 hours and that included a call from work and helping my sammich maker with another project when needed. Overall I am pretty happy with the results. Next up will be rock lights. I need to do some testing to see where to mount them so as to throw as little shadowing as possible yet keep the tire from hitting them.

Those are nice. I could use a light bar at the farm or back roads of west TX. I really like my piaa fog lights, I use them often when of coarse it’s foggy in the morning.

Looks like a nice beam pattern. Fingers crossed it doesn't fog up on ya when it gets wet.
