Just finished unloading everything from the poker run this weekend. We had roughly 85 people show up for the poker run and a good number more come to the after party. Once the day was done we raised a little over $3,000 for the local food pantry.

But here is the used Schrockworks bumper. I am going to work out the rust in a few scratches and give the whole thing a light sanding with fine sandpaper. Then it is getting a couple of coats of semi-gloss black rattle can.

Doing my homework for the bumper install. I was originally hoping to knock it out this week: but I am going to be realistic about needed fab time and wanting to add a little more strength to the mount system. So I am going to get all my stuff ready for next weekend. I will have from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon to do it all. Attaching the Schrockworks bumper install directions for future reference as well.

So now to service the Warn winch and prep my 4Runner. I do not really plan to have an in cab controller for the winch hardwired so that will keep wiring simple.

So LED fog lights, 25" dual row LED light bar, and water proof electrical plugs ordered for the bumper. I also noticed yesterday that this is one of the early Schrockworks bumpers and it did not come with a winch plate inside of it. So I have some 3/8s plate coming to weld inside the bumper with some gussets to resolve the winch plate issue. Today I picked up all new grade 8 bolts and started messing around under the factory bumper double checking the current situation.

Correction - I am missed that the winch mounts to inside of the front plate. Not to a flat plate inside.

So moving along like nothing happened...

Yeah; it was a long day there and back. But I have the old Warn 8000 torn down, cleaned up, and ready for grease and reassembly tomorrow. Along the process I decided I should bump up a parts washer on my list of tools to get. But the winch part is moving forward.

Doesn't look too bad!! Parts cleaner and a wire wheel and she will be like new.

So the vast majority of the install is done. The rest is just winch stuff. Note to anyone else wanting to do a Schrockwork's bumper install on a 3rd gen 4Runner - you will need a Toyota radiator. The brackets will not fit with 90% of the aftermarket radiators. Once I worked around that issue the rest of straight forward. I ended up adjusting the front suspension up 1/2" on the collars to get up where it needed to be. It was already a little low so I had to come up more than needed had I done just the bumper.

I will end up doing some fab work to make a windshield fluid reservoir guard. The Schrockworks bumper exposes it a bit more than I care for. There will be a little more fab work to smooth out a few dirty air flow areas but those are all personal preference issues.

But enough words... now a pic.

For some reason this is what I was thinking when looking at your new bumper.

Winch is properly bolted into place. Now to get the the wiring done and synthetic line ordered. I am going to be testing out a few different locations under the hood and possibly run a plug extension at some point to a more convenient location.
