MVUM?

I found secluded areas around Angelina NF to camp but they were mosquito infested and random people kept driving by. My wife wasn't comfortable with it so we ended up staying at the main campground.

Motor vehicle use map. They have select roads marked to where you can camp 150' on either side.

Ordered ATO HD shackles today. They are way beefier than OEM and have a zerk fitting to grease em.

Interested to see how these turn out. I was looking at shackle flip kits, my passenger side shackle has a nice dent in it. LOL

Yeah I'm hoping they take a bit of the side to side flex/deflection out of the shackle. I know mine have flexed a bit like that.

Not really interested in doing a shackle flip at this point. It's a can of worms I don't have the time to get into.

I wonder how the flip kits mess with heavy loads/towing demands?

I'd assume it'd be a little touchier/bouncier. It's just not something I want to mess with right now (longer shocks or limiting straps).

Forgot I ordered these. Took a couple of extra weeks to get in due to the Hurricane. Beefy as hell. Hope they fit! I won't be using the rubber bushings since I have a set of OME bushings for that.

Ive got ATO's lift flip kit on my rear. It's not perfect, but the best one available at the time. Everything centered on my truck great. Got droop for days from it and my 12" travel rear shocks in the stock locations. My rear brake line is my limit strap even with everything unbolted. Going to need real limit straps when I get her running. Without real limit straps I'm pretty sure my brake lines would rip out and my slip yolk would have no bite.

Replacing the headunit in my truck. Had to sort through all the bumblefuck wiring the audio guy did when he put the headunit in my truck when I first got it.

Come to find out he must've used an impact to get the 10mm bolts out and he sheared the plastic nuts off.

So I shaved down the plastic a 1/4" and installed some aluminum plates so I'd have something to drill into.

I finished making the new harness and called it a night at 5:30PM and am making Radler beer chicken. I'll finish the install tomorrow.

Reminds me of the time I let someone install a radio in my first truck. I went to put the stock unit back in and the jack ass cut up my factory harness and spliced wires to it since the shop was out of harnesses.

There's a reason I don't let anyone work on my truck now. At least if it looks like shit or doesn't work, then it's my fault and I know why I was young and dumb at the time which is why someone else installed it. Never again...

Well got everything nearly buttoned up. I still need to swap faceplates for a better fit. Those are in storage somewhere... Also need to splice in the parking brake wire and hook up the front and rear cameras. I ran the wires from the back of the unit for them.

A plus is this cable which will charge the phone and mirror the display of my phone at the same time.
