Shot some legitimate rounds of trap this weekend for the first time. Some of those guys take it very seriously. Was in Road Island on vacation and my cousins husband took me. Man that was some fun. It's been a long time since I shot some clays and never shot any at a formal range. Think I may have just gotten the bug to finally buy a shotgun....

Semi-auto is the way to go now. They are reliable and fires faster than a pump. Your Point of Impact (POI) is the same Point of Aim (POA) everytime when compared to an over/under or side by side (coach) shotgun.

Recommendations:

Benelli M2. It's the best on the market. Period.
Remington Versamax- I own one and I absolutely love it. I can shoot it all day with no issues. No recoil with a 2-3/4" birdshot shell
Beretta 1301- It's a Beretta. Nuff' said. (although it has some unloading features that are kooky which I don't like.)
Stoeger M3K- Great budget gun for the quality.
Mossberg 930 JM Pro- I heard they had some issues at first but it has been ironed out and is a solid shotgun now.

When it comes to firearms, buy once-cry once.

Danka! Funny I was just watching videos of the Versamax a few weeks ago after seeing it on guns & Ammo.

I was shooting my nephew in law's.?. Benelli pump and he was shooting my uncles 60yo double barrel. Good man to give me the rubber butt stock becuase my form sucks. If he had given me my uncles gun I'm doubtful my arm would be moving right now.

Just looked up the trap ranges near me and luckily I have one within a mile of my house. :aaaaa:

I just watched this episode actually. Good timing. Shell tube extensions are heavy fully loaded but I've found I shoot a lot better with the extension on since the weight keeps the muzzle rise down quite a bit. It backfires on me during hunting season when I put the gun back to stock to shoot birds. :(

I bought my Vortex Razor Gen II scope used from a guy. Well this little tool didn't come with it and I got a chance to use someone else's scope tool. It's so handy and small that I wanted to buy one. Well Vortex doesn't sell one so I emailed them asking if I could buy one and they sent it to me for free! Now that's customer service.:banana::aaaaa:

As an added bonus, it fits perfectly in my handgrip on my RPR! :aaaaa:

FYSA,

Ok guys one of those abc govt branches is shutting down all these places left and right that sell solvantoxic traps and taking customer names who bought these products, those assembled products are not worth the risk if you get caught, 10K fines and up to 10yrs(no stopping by Go) with new roommates.

I was curious how long they were going to let those places get away with those kits. I debated ordering some parts for my Form 1 suppressors but I ended up just using a buddy's lathe instead to machine the parts.

Also told to me that two customers who bought thousands of dollars had search warrants served as well, that was all the info given

I wonder how well these actions will stand up in court when they are sued over this. The ATF did not fare well over the 80% lower lawsuits after they closed down that shop and seized the records.

I guess it depends how much money the businesses are willing to fork out to fight.

The auto parts suppliers were also given notice to not to sell these businesses as well

My shotguns are finally in! The guy that called me said they are sequential numbers so that is kinda cool I guess. I am looking forward to busting some clays now.

I need to get a new shotgun before dove season. Don't know why really. It's just going to sit in the truck while I shoot the old 870. But I want a new one because bang bang.

Good to know (not that I own one or anything). I figured it was only a matter of time before they cracked down on them. Those guys were getting too bold online about selling those kits.

I heard from a knowledgeable source that the ATF only gives you a slap on the wrist for owing an illegal/unregistered suppressor (making and selling them is a different story). But God help you if you have an illegal machine gun and the ATF finds out. They will throw the whole book at you then.
