Hopefully more companies follow the example. The Northeast is hostile to gun manufacturers through business taxes and bad lawsuits. If Remington had been sued in Texas they would have not lost their ass.

I'm more pissed at SB Tactical for not having done that. Yes I know they were working with the ATF to come up with some sort of language to use on their website, but they've know since July of 2018 and only recently (Mar/Apr) removed any "ATF Compliant" verbiage from their website.
It appears that SB Tactical removed any changed to pistol braces’ legality between March and April of this year, 2020.
Guess that copy of their "open letter" from Mar of 2017 that I carry is worthless."

They have the FDA review an early version of the drug and the FDA rubber stamps the approval. That would never happen right? Same sort of agency with the same oversight as the ATF. These pricks sat on their hands for over 2 yrs allowing us all to believe it was totally legal. It isn’t as if these things were being sold on the dark web. They are commonplace. Textbook tacit approval..."

1st - I do not agree with the ATF changing their "opinion" again and this will have to go to SCOTUS.
2nd - I am not surprised this happened. There are countless videos/ posts/ people out there being very public that a pistol brace is a tax stamp free SBR. Videos on YouTube showing the firearm going straight to the shoulder not being used as a pistol brace.
3rd - The ATF already has an issue with the legal definition of a firearm and the AR style of firearms. This could really help dog pile the ATF in the courts.
Yes, it is dumb. Yes, going with a pistol brace because you want an SBR but do not want the stamp is also dumb. That is playing "legal definition I am not touching you" and the ATF just leaned into your finger. Thank all the idiots who were very public about their "pistol brace" rifle. This has no impact on my current collection but I still want to see the ATF beat down in court over it.

that was my plan/thinking.... even then the only thing that stopped me from getting one was the need for an additional pistol purchase permit/FBI background check through NJ. if not for that I prob would of gotten a pistol vs the 14.5" barrel w/pinned/welded comp I ended up getting. after I got my long arms purchase/carry permit I need no additional permits for buying each and every long-arm like I do for pistols
Screw the feds. I wonder how states like NJ will handle this? They already have strict laws and have accepted these as being pistols at the state level.
So a couple Black Friday deals worked out in my favor. The 300 Win Mag has a folding stock adapter and Dead Air mount/ brake coming for it. I am looking forward to seeing how the 300WM shoots with a decent brake on it.
Shoutout to MDT today. I ordered a blem folding rifle stock adapter from their Black Friday sale. It arrived yesterday and had a few small cosmetic issues (nothing on par with what I am going to do to it down the line) but was also missing the hinge bolt/pin to make the adapter work. I emailed with MDT support and now have a new non-blem folding adapter headed to me. Another example of why I like running their hardware and will continue running their hardware. Think I will be ordering the adjustable stock from them sooner than later now.
