Just Guns

So I picked up a Springfield XD Mod.2 9mm subcompact last week. The grips (excluding the GRIP ZONE words) were moderate at best. Some Google fu pointed me to Talon textured grip tape as a recommended upgrade. The grips cost $20, installed within 5 minutes, and work great. I have put skateboard tape on grips before but unless you cut them exactly right the results are sub par.

After adding the Talon grip tape the subcompact grip held position in my hand a lot better at the range. My sammich maker said she had the same results when she shot my pistol. She is debating if she wants to add them to her pistol now or not.

Next upgrade will be the trigger. This dang trigger has got to get better. PRP or bust.

I would love to have a Glock 19 but I just cant get over the grip. It's like holding a 2x4 to me. By far the most uncomfortable gun I think I've ever held.

Finally about to starty journey into long range shooting. Me and the neighbor finally hit the range. He bought a bergara b14 in 6.5 creedmoor and with a Vortex Viper pst and I have my Savage 110 tactical with a Vortex Viper HS (soon to sell for a pst or razor) we have local range that goes out to 800 but we first had to qualify at 200 and shoot a 1 moa group. First time either of us have tried to shoot groups with those particular guns. I barely squeezed out that 2" group with federal Gold Medal match 175gr. I need to get a bipod, it was hard to stay steady without being able to put in some forward pressure. Also need to grab a rear bag. Think I'm gonna order an Atlas CAL. gonna do another set at 200 then move out a little further.

I'm wanting to do the same. Planning out a 224 Valk build. Gotta get some new windows this spring and then maybe I can make it happen. Me and @RichardB23 are going to check out a 1000 yard range in a couple of weeks.

I'm wanting to do the same. Planning out a 224 Valk build. Gotta get some new windows this spring and then maybe I can make it happen. Me and @RichardB23 are going to check out a 1000 yard range in a couple of weeks.

From all I've read online and seen, I would wait a little longer for them to develop better barrels for the Valk or I would just go 6.5.Grendel. The majority of what I've seen is guys are only able to pull off reasonable MOA groups below 77gr bullets. Well if that's the case then I'm going to go ahead and shoot a .223 77gr which is a helluva a lot cheaper and a proven cartridge.

Also, any data you see out of a bolt gun for the Valk cartridge, just throw that data out the window. The Valk was designed from the ground up as a Semi-Auto cartridge and it should perform like they said it was going to OUT of a semi-auto. If you're going to build a bolt gun in .224 Valk than I'd recommend you pick a better caliber (6.5Creedmoor, 6mm, .260, etc...).

I have talked to a few reloading guys shooting the 224V and they are all "happy" to be getting 3/4 to 1 MOA groups. That would piss me off considering the sales line for that cartridge.

My 300WM bolt gun holds 1/2 MOA pretty easy. So far my 6.5G AR is promising to be an east sub-MOA setup as well.

Was watching demo ranch last night and saw him review his custom glock. that thing looked overly "tacticool", but pretty awesome regardless. I had no idea custom glocks were even a thing. Goes to show you how far my head is in the sand over here in "guns are illegal land"

I am surprised you could even access the video. I have an uncle in Kommiefornia I always give a hard time about their laws. I keep telling him if I sent him pics of some of my collection he would end up with a felony for not reporting the high capacity pictures.
