Started on the bottom side supports, I ended up clogging up the one rotary burr I was using to allow thing to line up. So I am at a standstill until tomorrow. But I can smell the need for a piece for the top and sides.

I need to pick up some more Steel-It paint and a Bolt padlock. But this came out pretty nice for a water holder. It will mount on the side of the toolbox in the bed.

I just recalled that I have some padded foam tape that I will put on the bottom-side of the metal straps. Now the big question is... where did I put it?

Added a little piece to prevent the can from being pulled sideways from under the latching system. Still awaiting Steel-It and some padded tape. And I still need to drill holes in tool box and get it mounted.

When we where in Arkansas last time I managed to get my fuel can holder wedged into the jockey wheel on the trailer. It bent up the jerry can holder and I saw some hairline cracks form. So today I cut it off. Used some 1/8 x 1.5" steel strap and beefed it up. Drilled 12 holes in each piece so I could rosette weld it and then welded it fully. The reattached welding it top bottom inside and out... MUCH stouter. Just need some paint to finish it up.

ok, time to get aluminum for the "poor mans decked system"... 3/16" or 1/4".. 1/4" is $85 more than the 3/16. Thinking buy once cry once. Gonna go pick it up tomorrow.

Picked up the 1/4" x 4' x 4' sheet of aluminum. Cut it using cut off discs designed for aluminum, burned through two so far, will most likely burn through two more. Still need to cut the pieces for the sides. Also awaiting the hardware to attach it to the base. I totally fucked my back today, got lucky and got into the chiropractor so I can move a little. Going back on Thursday. But it was probably not a good idea to do all this with my back all out of whack. Anyhow, another bite of the elephant.

Progress was made.. sanded the edges, sanded the bottom side with 80 grit on a DA sander. Ran strips of T-Rex double sided tape along the tops of the frame (used 5 rolls so far) and set it in place with some scissor jacks. Next is the sides and to run a few countersunk bolts through the top to give it that "its not going anywhere" feel.

Ok, one side almost complete.. two more rolls of tape used. I'm done for a while though, wiped out. Awaiting some longer eye bolts to use as anchor points, also some self tapping flat head screws. Once its screwed together I'll take it outside and go over it all with a flap disc to remove any burrs and also seal up the seams with some silicone. Need to find a rubber mat for on top of it. Mr. Gasket Anchor Trax will be mounted on the sides near the top for tying things down.

Yeah I was on the fence about thickness, but glad I went thicker. I had the little one (not so little any more) up on top of it today and she bounced up and down and no flex. So it should hold my fat ass just sitting there on top of it should I need to get inside the toolbox. I got all the sides attached, will double up and attach them them via self tapping screws as well. Also ordered some faux diamond plate rubber mat for on top. Should be done in 10 days or so once that shows up. Still need to tackle wiring. FML. Oh and I did order some BD S2 Pro ditch lights.. #overlanding LOL I hate that word.

One side got some Anchotrax installed. Will wrap up the other side tomorrow. Should give me some nice spots to tie crap down to. Rubber mat arrives tomorrow so I should get that installed as well.

How is the back feeling?
Like shit!! Took some prescription anti-inflammatory meds and some muscle relaxers. I am moving a little better but its only due to the meds.

Ended up getting the other side done as well. I think the only thing left for it is to adhere the rubber matting to the top once it arrives tomorrow. Will hit the top with some 80 grit to ensure the adhesive sticks.

Scuffed up the top with 100 grit on a DA. Wiped it down with acetone. Used 4 tubes of Permatex black silicone adhesive. Then I just put a lot of crap on top of it. Should be able to take it all off later tonight.

Ok, ended up using 5 tubes of Permatex. Its pretty secure though, not too worried about it pealing up. I need to take a razor blade and clean up some Permatex that I spread in the wrong area, you can see it in the pics... but I think this thing is DONE #donestamp I really do need to climb in the bed and do more wiring though, I am the master at procrastination of that task. Tomorrow I will "pretty up" the jerry can holder, the piece that mounts to the swingout. It has some serious drunken booger welds on it. Figure might as well make it look nice while I procrastinate. :D

Oh and my back.. might take a day off tomorrow depending on how I feel. Beer, CBD cream, anti-spasm meds and prescript anti inflammatory do wonders for allowing me to work.. but not so much once they wear off. I think running a grinder tomorrow will be ok, we shall see.

Started on this shit. Need to mount the other side and wire it up. Had to modify the mount to hold both the antenna and the light.
