I am very sorry to hear about what is going on in the wet part of Texas. I just saw a thing on looting and I heard about a guy who shot a guy in the head for trying to steal his stuff.
Jerry Brown would insist that the reason why these people are bad is that they break laws. California has essentially made it so that the laws are either unenforceable or that crimes are no longer crimes. That way California has reduced their crime rates.

Personally, I seem him like a musician or an athlete. People like to see him. They feel good listening to him. I'm not quite sure he should benefit from tax free living though. He certainly plays a lot of concerts/games.

Interesting stance since the article talks about other places of worship opening their doors and its only Osteen's church (which they state is inaccessible due to flooding) that isn't acting as a temporary shelter. I'm not a follower or fan Joel but I think its unfair to attack the premise of religion on your preception of one man's actions.
I do not mean to make it sound like I am bashing on all religious groups/ corporations; but a lot of these mega churches have become huge tax shelters for private wealth.

Can't argue with that, and you're right that people who do use their tax exempt status as a shelter are doing a major disservice to religious organizations and churches that are really helping people.
I know a lot of local small churches that go out of their way to help people. I do what I can to help those different churches and organizations; but will not lift a finger to help these million dollar tax shelters.
Social Media can be a real beating if you are on the wrong side of it.

I don't care what kind of organization you have set up, if you utilize American infrastructure and have an impact on it - pay your way. If you don't contribute you are only having others pay your way for you IMO and where I stand no one gets a free ride no matter what their business is.
