It's not. Go single payer and gut the corporations from holding Americans health hostage. Save me some dam tax money while propelling America into the future.

The answer is someplace in the middle and away from Washington beauracrats.
I respect John McCaine for his time in the service and time as a POW; but he needs to get out of politics. He has become the problem. There are not enough people in Washington in business other than the business of making a personal fortune.
I don't think you thought that statement through. Single payer would put the GOVERNMENT in control of health care, which in turn would RAISE TAXES, and all those fun little cures and the tons of research that goes into finding them would STOP. Those "corporations" are the ones funding research that lead to innovations in the medical field. The only reason medical costs have been on the rise is because it has become a market without substance due to government regulation. It's not. I'm okay with single payer as long as it is like other countries - you can go get stitches, a band-aid and aspirin. Then if you want to get real healthcare you go to some industrialized nation that has a free market and you pay for when you get it.
Someday having glass in structures will be a right. Not even going to try to debate it. We can agree to disagree.
I am not nor will I ever take a pro capitalistic stance with regards to people's health/wellness/death. To me it's a right.
Don't worry - I'll still vote conservative because I care what my tax dollars are spent on.

And really the question of healthcare supplied by the man is what is 'free', who gets to pay for it and what is mandated - I really don't think anyone needs to pay for an Add-A-Dick-To-Me other than the person that can get a good grip on reality.
The real problem is that Government fucks up nearly everything they touch. I don't see how they wont fuck up 'healthcare.' They certainly won't make it 'affordable.'I do not have a problem with basic healthcare for diseases and emergencies/ accidents. I do not believe tax payer money should fund boob jobs (excluding breast cancer related repairs), sex changes, or any other elective surgery that has become so common in our society now days. If a person wants an elective surgery they should have to pay for it out of their own private health insurance or pocket. If they want better care than provided by the government system they can purchase their own private health insurance.
Pretty much the way the VA is supposed to work right now - except with less killing the patients.
Not to mention the fact that sales plummet when the rebate (read: subsidy) is taken away:$5 Billion. Not bad welfare if you can get it.
OPINION: Can we wean Elon Musk off government support already?
