My "perception" is that of: Conservatives hit the voting booth when shit hits the fan and they are pissed. Libs hit the streets and riot or cry on the web/in the media (Hollywood). The only reason we still have a second amendment is due to grassroots conservative efforts. No one beats the Right when it comes to making phone calls/e-mails to legislators and attending meetings to get what we want. I asked my left wing friends how many times they have sent out a letter they wrote, called anyone, or attended any meetings for push their agenda forward. None had. All their "action" was online or in Philly protests standing around yelling at people who believe the same as they do

Anytime Ive felt passionate about my beliefs Ive gone to meetings and gotten involved. Ive also tried to get other like minded people involved "hands on".

A single phone call to a legislator is like 10k worth of stupid e-mails or online petitions.

I get your point too Sean, I just do not understand how all of the sudden America is anti- Anyone else but Americans when the country itself was built by prosecuted immigrants. I guess I am waiting for someone to explain to me why all of the sudden it is ok to tell people that they are not allowed into the country when that was the whole basis of it. I mean, it is straight violations of the Constitution, luckily for ya'll his crap will most likely fall under sovereign immunity and will be reinstated since it is a discretionary function. I am all for America and doing what is right for it, I think throwing the constitution out the window in some regards is about as anti-American as you can get. I personally believe that isolating our country from the rest of the world is going to be an issue.

Where in the constitution does it say that we have to allow immigrants? "Naturalization" is mentioned twice in the constitution (Article I, Section 8 and 14th Amendment) and neither even hint at what you are whining about. Also, the constitution only applies to CITIZENS and those ALREADY IN the country (even if here illegally).

I get mothers and children refugees fleeing war torn countries. What I DO NOT get is why we want to bring in grown men and women who flee. We don't run from conflict ~ We run at it. As history has proven time and time again sometimes the strong need to stick it out and fight for whats right. Sometimes they die, sometimes not. While I agree with the idea of standing up to an opposing force; you would be amazed how few cultures in the world believe that. I had buddies that had to train the Iraqi Army and they all complained that it was just not in those guys' nature to run towards gun fire. They all agreed that this is the biggest difference and has been the largest hurdle in getting the Iraq and Afghan locals to take over their own security operations. Not all cultures believe in standing against an opposing force.

As for 72 virgins - hard pass. I'll take 72 sluts that know what they are doing any day of the week.
