25% on steel and 10% on aluminum, but remember we also sanctioned the 3rd largest producer of aluminum (Russia) last month and prices are already going crazy so this is in addition to that price spike.

All aluminum is imported because the US has no means to mine it....well unless Trump starts WWIII and we annex some more land lol
I see Mexicans mining aluminum nearly every day! lol

Most of the steel I use is out of Mexico, all of the tubing smaller than 4x4x1/4 is usually made in Mexico.

Guess the play here is hoping we get some more steel mills opened up here in the states.

I did a job earlier this year where I had to special order 6x4x1/8 rectangle tubing. Only place that made it in North America was Atlas steel out of Canada.

20+ years ago my dad would drive to Canada and buy his steel for his custom boat hauling trailers. My Kennesaw bumper that's made from 6x6 steel tube was stamped "Canada" when I was sanding the rust off it lol

Cheap products, quality products, USA made, green products.......pick two because you can't get all four. At the prices some US citizens "want" to pay for materials we simply can't afford to make them ourselves.

Same reason people flinch when they ask me how much my USA hand made hammocks cost and I tell them. USA hand made quality items = A sh*t ton of $$$.

I would be amazed if steel mills opened back up in the US.

I like buying certain USA made materials and always try to do so personally and at work, but some items I prefer to buy from foreign companies. Got my Subaru specifically because it was made/assembled in Japan. If I get another Toyota I'd probably do the same. USA made products are dummbed down then overpriced for our market. Like the Tacoma vs Hilux for example.

I see Mexicans mining aluminum nearly every day! lol

lol We have a ton of can collectors around here. Streets still full of trash though.

I think the high wages/Unions drove a lot of those steel mills or manufacturers in the rust belt & NE states out of business or the country.

A company down near me can't get enough metal recyclables, and they are currently processing over 200tons a month and they now have orders out to 11 months, road projects will be delayed because they can't make enough rebar.

CMC just purchased several rebar facilities from the company I work for.

IIRC, They are one of the top suppliers for rebar, few members from church work there.
And I guess if they can't produce enough rebar, road projects could be tied up.

it would be true. I could be 50% black and 25% Spanish... who knows? I can't be sure. I only remember hearing stories from my great and grandparents and those are just stories not facts.

For all I know I could be American Indian and owed a ton of fed payroll taxes back from 22 years of paying them.

I can tell you for sure Ill never know. No way in HELL I would ever submit my DNA for testing so they could then sell my info to the highest bidder or catch a loved family member for being some mass murderer through DNA family lineage. Pisses me off that a dipshit family member can submit to one of those sites and potentially get another member of the family in trouble.

And this is how open commerce works.

Anyone that does not want to do business there does not have to. After a while the bakery may not be able to stay open. They may have to close due to their business policies. Then a new bakery with different policies will flourish to fill the void.

Follow the money.
