The 7-2 split is amazing.
I see Mexicans mining aluminum nearly every day!25% on steel and 10% on aluminum, but remember we also sanctioned the 3rd largest producer of aluminum (Russia) last month and prices are already going crazy so this is in addition to that price spike.
All aluminum is imported because the US has no means to mine it....well unless Trump starts WWIII and we annex some more land![]()

And I saw one report that it just squeezed by. Fucking liberal news. The 7-2 split is amazing.
Most of the steel I use is out of Mexico, all of the tubing smaller than 4x4x1/4 is usually made in Mexico.
Guess the play here is hoping we get some more steel mills opened up here in the states.
I did a job earlier this year where I had to special order 6x4x1/8 rectangle tubing. Only place that made it in North America was Atlas steel out of Canada.

We have a ton of can collectors around here. Streets still full of trash though.I think the high wages/Unions drove a lot of those steel mills or manufacturers in the rust belt & NE states out of business or the country.
A company down near me can't get enough metal recyclables, and they are currently processing over 200tons a month and they now have orders out to 11 months, road projects will be delayed because they can't make enough rebar.
Alcoa?
No, I think they closed the Port Lavaca plant.
CMC out of Seguin, and they own/have a couple spin off companies
CMC just purchased several rebar facilities from the company I work for.
I had to fill out paperwork at the union hall last night for some certification classes I'm taking. They asked my race and I almost felt like filling out "other". I'm a Chec/Greman/Russian/Euro trash mut

I'd like to write in "Unknown"
