And this is how open commerce works.

Anyone that does not want to do business there does not have to. After a while the bakery may not be able to stay open. They may have to close due to their business policies. Then a new bakery with different policies will flourish to fill the void.

Follow the money.

Exactly why we don't shop at Target stores.

Snowflakes all over. The truly funny thing about the Trump effect is that the 'entertainment' industry (news now falls into that category too since the OJ trial couldn't last for ever but the 24 hour news needed something to keep the cash register ringing) created Trump in many ways. Their TV shows became raunchier and more outrageous - politicians needed to as well - Well, at least if they didn't have 572 channels that were trying to make it seem that they knew the right thing for our country and if anyone challenged that belief, they would need to be ridiculed.

We shall all see how this game plays out. lol

I think for the most part, it's really stupid for any business to make social or political comments/statements.

I completely agree. No matter what stance they take at some point they will take one that directly conflicts with some of their customer's thoughts/beleifs.

Our gubner was the first resident/idiot to cast a sports bet yesterday. I'm anti gambling but also pro freedom so this topic has be either being hypocritical or a p*ssy. Pick my poison. Rather not have it legal, but it's not like it's not going on already on the black market. Whatever will keep our state from imploding in debt I guess Ill be a fan of :notsure: lol

Vices will always be there legal or illegally. In my opinion the government should legalize marijuana, gambling, and prostitution. The taxes off the vices will help raise funds and the easy access will significantly undermine the criminal activities around them. If prostitution is legal it will drastically reduce the amount of human trafficking. Drugs have already been proven to follow the same to a similar degree.

The problem is there are a few places with all the legal and they will put lots of pressure and money into keeping it that way. The Bunny Ranch makes a small mint off souvenirs alone. Colorado had a huge tourism boom after weed was legalized. The Oklahoma casinos have a lot of money invested in making sure Texas does not expand gambling. They make a fortune off of casino tourists.

I hear you but somethings should be left in the dark.

The weed thing hear has led to other things that I think if the legislature wasn't so high on weed and the idea of 'increased revenues,' they wouldn't have done. For example. Someone who steals my under $1000 handgun is no longer a felon. We have so many fucked up people roaming the streets it's shameful. Why do I live here? My love of the weather, my family and love of the outdoors. :)

All the tax money argument is partial bullshit too. The hidden costs are things no one will truly consider. Having worked with the homeless for more than 25 years, I can tell you weed doesn't kill people but some of the decisions (like trying meth, etc) are the things that really fuck up people. I was just in court today with an 80 year-old woman that is attempting to evict her 50+ year-old daughter who has a meth habit.

Anyway. Sorry to interrupt the stream of consciousness! lol

I do agree that there are lots of expensive secondary issues that come from the vices. Colorado has seen an amazing spike in homeless people migrating to the state after the legalization of weed. The pro weed groups argue that weed is not to blame but the street level surveys say otherwise.

I would say at the very least, 50% of all homeless people are just urban campers that know how to work the system. They would do much better if that well went dry and they had to keep busy.

... or maybe I should just buy a big fat bag of weed and go on a 1 year urban camping trip 'begging' - now called, holding a sign.

So 3 liberal voting states instead of 1. Should have put the big 3 cities in one state

This kind of a split is not horrible. The majority of the population is between San Diego and San Francisco. Any split that separates the conservative areas from the liberal areas would be extremely off balance as far as population and financial stability. They would have wealthy state and then one poor state.
