IDK but every single tradeshow I see is looking for skilled workers. Every single Youtube channel I watch regarding homesteading is looking for skilled labor.

When they reform immigration........ never happen.... they need to not only make sure we are bringing in skilled white but also skilled blue collar workers. In another 10-20 years skilled workers will be gouging prices on everyone, because they can.

Already seeing the gouging with residential construction. There are areas where a contractor can add another 25% to the quote just to see if it gets approved. They are already busy enough it will not matter if they do not get it. My mother-in-law is dealing with the issue south of Charlotte.

I get what you're saying, but by 'skilled workers' I mean legal professional blue collar workers in 'skilled trades', not illegal future lawn jockeys, farm hands, and gang members.

Even in our current immigration policies we elevate white collar over blue and that needs to be fixed. When shit hits the fan I'd always rather have a plumber and electrician with me than a few desk jockeys that are pro's at avoiding paper-cuts (myself included of course).

I've got one lady I've been talking too about a patio cover. Nice and all but being a major PITA to deal with. The questions this lady has come up with are impressive

I'm doing a frame less shower for a buddy and his wife. We are currently on design 8 and quote 13. I measured 2 weeks ago yet we are still going back and forth regarding design. I would of had this thing installed and broken in already if not for her changes. They have no idea how construction works or why the re-modeler's bill is thousands more than they were quoted. She must have made three changes in the one day I was onsite to insure the carpenter put my blocking in the right spots. If I was tracking my time this job would be a total loss, but since I'm doing it for free and 3% over material costs I better get some good dinner invites out of this + some lake time since they live on one.

This is me on a daily basis. I meet with 3-4 customers per day at work. I'm constantly amazed by the shit people come up with. A researcher asked me if I could install a residential dishwasher in his lab to clean his glassware with chemicals and bio samples in it. I was like "Nope, not gonna happen bud".

She was trying to get the details out so she could get her nephew or family member to build it! But yeah, I've gotten to the point where I don't have that kinda time so I just tell people to money into an account for me and then I'll contact them to schedule or talk about the work.
