I guess you really are more of a grinder than a welder.

Tonight I managed to get a few more hours of welding on the roof rack and test fitting the plates for the dimples. Hopefully Sunday will see the completion and painting of the sides. Then on to the cross bars.

Some Gear Wrench Torx bits. Picked them up from ntxtool.com, bogo sale. Not a bad deal.

Probably.

My little one asked me if she could have my tools when I die. (Yeah not a good conversation) I said yes, as long as you know how to use them.

I snagged a Hobart Handler 140 MIG off Craigslist today. Mainly for the old Volvo project, but I'm sure I'll find some uses for it on the 4R.

Those are good little welders I like them, especially for thinner stuff like sheet metal up to 3/16

That's exactly what I've got planned. This little guy has some non-structural rust that needs to be addressed. And all the other fun projects that come along with stuffing a modern turbocharged, fuel injected engine in a 50 year old car.

Was it the one in Arlington on Craigslist? If not I am going to go look at that one ASAP.

That's not my house, that's where I bought it from. Pretty cool little place, he's got all sorts of odd projects. I'm a little jealous, but I'm sure I'd fill it up with old cars I'd never work on too.

Glad somebody here snagged that deal.

Yeah, I'd seen similar welders for sale on CL before, and they always sold within a few days. I'm just glad I saw this listing in time.

Anyone had any issues with Milwaukee drills/impacts? My old drill is slipping really bad so I am about to replace/upgrade.

Nope. Haven't heard any issues from the tradesmen on them. Get the impact & drill combo set.

Milwaukee and DeWalt are the best you can get on the market right now for the money. I'd say the chucks on Milwaukee's are better than DeWalt at the moment but neither brands chucks are that great IMO. I like DeWalts ergonomics better than Milwaukee.

The local shop my company works with has the drill/impact combo. I might pick it up today when I get back to work.
