pro tip..... don't strain your oil into a "natural" color coffee filter...pretty much defeats the purpose. few shiners in there but nothing bad.

also the 125hr lifespan is for the engines emissions control system, not the actual engine itself so thats good news.

also found a use for my subaru floor oe mats lol

that said rabbit rum hole gone down last night...

also swapped the scraping blade around. It was not close to strait any longer. big ass curve with 1" less at the edges

instead of tightening the belts I replaced them. tonight I think Ill replace the friction wheel. runs good in 2-6 and both reverse gears but first gear fw is slipping. Already cleaned the wheel/plate and cables done adjusted as tight as possible so if I want first gear for big storms we never have anymore its gotta be done lol

I'm done.....well not actually, but for today and she's 100% back together and ready to go. Have one last part to order that is an easy 2 screw swap. The anti surge spring has sprung and is causing it to surge back and forth more than I'd like. When I hold it with my hand it's fine, but as soon as I let the spring takeover at low idle it could be smoother. High idle has no issues cause the spring has more pressure on it then.

swapped the friction disk and it's 100x better. I mic'd it before I took it off then comp'd it to the new one to see if it was actually needed and it was. I lost about 3/16" thickness where I measured so about 3/8" diameter overall lost due to wear. first gear will now dig a hole in my backyard when I hold it back.

I forgot how much gas this thing eats. As I'm tweaking it I'm only pouring in a little at a time. Until it starts sputtering as I'm tweaking it making me think it's me making it stumble. Happened twice until I just decided to saw screw it and emptied the entire liter of true fuel into it.

it's been waaaaay tooooooo long. last time we had significant snowfall had to be 5 years ago. thats when Scott/Josh and I headed to WV and got hit w/43" that weekend. November of this year was 5* warmer than last November....MUST HEAD NORTH

I'd like to see a good year with at least two 3' storms to cripple everything for a week or so. Those were always the best. I love that time of year. No one on the roads......no one "allowed" to be on the roads...lol..... fun to be had everywhere

Last time we had a good snow cover down here I was still driving my PreRunner. Then I bought the 4Runner with 4x4 and we have not had a good snow in 5 years. Now we have good odds of a heavy snow winter and I am working from home. Guess I will have to drive my sammich maker to work to have some fun in the snow.

Good point... Haven't seen snow since I bought the Taco. Well.. @tex, @TacoXpo and I saw some snow on the way to BBRSP and I poser parked in some. lol

tex

That's Mr Asshole to you
I had my 4runner for a month and we got dumped on with about 10 inches of snow while at work. I ended up taking 4 people home from work since they didn't want to drive in it, and also couldn't get their cars up the incline to exit the parking garage.
Found a little snow on the trails in Colorado last year.

Odd - I overlooked my trip to Big Bend Ranch when I ended up snow locked in the Mexicano campsites . Then every other time I drive back from Big Bend I have driven into or on horrible snow or ice.

Dang I need to get back to Big Bend.

Yep.. BB sounds like a great place to be.

I need to get a WiFi hotspot with a good data allowance. Kiddo mentioned to me the other day we should go camping and she can do schoolwork from the campsite and I can work from it as well. She has a point! Just need a better data plan. With Zoom meetings and remote desktop all day I would guess I would max out my data allowance in the first day.

I'm finally putting my front end back together. I don't think I've driven it since I drove home from a snowstorm in my happy place (spacers are still on the front axle) where I had 4 chains on and had to back out and take a 5-6 hour detour to get to where we were going. It was wet and about 18" deep.

My lady slept while I drove the piss out of my truck listening to my favorite tunes! lol

Sadly the Kooties will keep me from enjoying my happy place this year - first year in 10 years. :(

So wait. You're going to let a virus that you don't even believe in keep you from going to a place where there is no one to catch it from? I'm confused.
