Just remember old people trip because they drag their feet when they shuffle. Just trying to keep you healthy.

Like I said, you use materials you have, old people... lol just think as being thrifty, takes one minute with impact to remove those lags, carriage type bolt with nut/nylon lock will be used in the front section.

Thanks for @tx_shooter and his city boy concerns.

That's why I put "improvement" in quotes. I don't think you did anything wrong and I don't know how much of an improvement it would actually make. That said, I know that you are a guy who likes to pay attention to the minute details.

...and in my biz, my BIGGEST pet peeves are transition strips - plan the flooring so that it is all on one level. A couple hundred dollars in thin plywood or a bag or two of leveling cement and people could actually live right. :)

Oh he has spoken, man I putting in some big ass eye bolts now!

It’s not a dance floor, but I could mount a 10’ pole up there for some camp entrainment, lol

Story time: I built out this Optometrist office for a couple. The wife was the Optometrist and the husband was an Engineer (had his stamp, PE certification and was working as an Engineer). They would not budge on the flooring selections they picked out despite one flooring being a millimeter thicker. I had a meeting with the couple and my flooring subcontractor to explain the height difference. They wouldn't budge, so we had them sign off on the flooring selections to assume all responsibility for any tripping hazards both on a physical copy of the drawing as well as sending us a release email. Well we put the flooring in and they freaked out about the height difference of one millimeter! I had to send the approval email along with the release to them stating that if they wanted to change it, they would have to pay for it as a change order. The owners also drew out the flooring pattern (they wouldn't listen to any recommendations we made to have it look better) so that design is on them lol

I took this pic while the cleaning crew was working which is why the flooring isn't covered up to protect it.

So sad. That is one reason I have two very good flooring guys that I refer to my clients. I ALWAYS trust their recommendations. - Plus when I work with builders I always have my clients review and specify the methods of transitions. I know it turns off some of my clients as it did with your client but they don't realize the subtle things make a big difference.

One other pet peeve I have yet more rare is when the the accuracy of the risers are off. I had a guy completely do my stairs once because one riser was off. I told him about how castles are built with steps with different risers for one purpose - to cause uninvited guests to trip.

I guess I'll just stick these pics in this post since we don't have a dedicated trailer thread.

I routed in these lay-flat tie downs so I can haul longer material and keep it strapped down.

I also put in 10 additional stainless steel tie-down points all along the trailer. I was tired of having to rig strap hooks to stay put or getting them in a corner of the trailer only to have them rub and tear the strap.

I still want to put in new trailer bearings and eventually I want to move the axle back to where it was (about 3/4" of the way down the trailer). My stepdad moved the axle to the center of the trailer years ago and it's always towed like shit for me since then.

My old, but new to me farm trailer needs a new wiring job, I took my magnetic trailer lights and extended the cords to fit this trailer.

Reminds me I need to re-wire my F-in-law's 16' flatbed trailer. I used it over the weekend and the wires/ lights are all beat to hell.

My neighbor has a roll of alarm wire, good stuff, I'm gonna see if I can't get some of that, it is much better than that cheap 4 wire for trailers which has zero protection for shielding that thin wire, and I need pick up some new LED tail and side markers too.
