How bad was the install? The fuel gauge read close to normal or just good for full and empty?
@Silverback go ahead and get a drool rag.
Install was about 5 hours start to finish. The empty light now comes on with about 8 gallons left in the tank, the sending unit remains pretty accurate though the range.
One thing I can advise you on is DO NOT mix up the supply and return hose, they are the same size so it's really easy to do. Mark them with tape or something, otherwise you will be dropping the tank twice

The mounting system is a pain in the ass, not much room to access bolts, but we got it done eventually. The tank is steel and awkward to fit into the space between the leaf springs and the muffler you have to do some finagling to work it into place. You also have to trim the leaf spring hanger bolt since it comes to close
Thats exactly what I want to do to mine. My gauge is off and has been for some time.. figure if I have to drop the tank or pull the bed to replace it.. I'm getting a bigger tank.
He does have the gayest license plate though... he lose a bet?
From what I could tell the sending unit should be able to be replaced fairly easy once the pump assembly is out. An not sure on the license plate but maybe
