What have you done to your ride lately?

How much for that bish? Right now I am trying to dial in how much I have to run my truck to recharge my second batt when out in the desert. :) I am thinking 144 amp at idle would do the job and I would still keep my non-prius status by not having solar! lol

$400 bones. @Anathollo was the guinea pig. He did it first. But this thing is a beast. I just wish my old one was alive to be a spare. But I'll take it in and see what it costs to repair.

Oh and it says that it requires a smaller drive belt. But in reality it works.

I now see. Not a bad price. :) The only thing is to change your belts more often due to the small pulley - tight radius. That pulley looks smaller than my blower pulley.

@Anathollo measured them prior to installation and the difference was very minimal. The pulley that came on mine was actually different than the one in the photo. Maybe the 320 amp version has that super small pulley.

I swapped the belt when I did the install... that alone was the biggest PITA. I left the fan and shroud in place and I regret it. Fuck it was a bitch.

If it makes you feel any better, in the last month I have swapped out about 30 fan clutches - not my ride and did not get paid. :) It was a very good cause though! :)

I should have spent 10 minutes and pulled the fan.. it would have saved me 30 minutes I'm guessing.

I measured both pulley's with a set of calipers because I was REALLY worried about it being a smaller pulley. IIRC it was 2 thou difference with the new alternator being 2 thou smaller. I took multiple measurements all over the pulley's too.

Mas work done over the holiday week.

Mounted the radiator up front by moving the crossbar i had up some on the shock hoops. Went with a Griffin LS swap radiator. 26x5x3 w/ 1.25" tubes. Going to seee if i can fit a Volvo fan on it. Best part is that it should all fit under the hood.

Knocked out a bumper up front. Its .188 wall and will hold the fairlead for the winch and a lightbar for night wheeling.

Reused my old fuel cell and built some mounts to make it removable. Passenger side is the same. Should keep it nice and secure. There will be rubber underneath to help absorb some of the vibrations. Will also be below the bedrails from the profile view.

Then I popped the cab off to finish weld the roof bars and get a better fitment on the tubes going through the firewall. Those were tough to get tight when one side is pretty blind. As you can see i also welded in some corner cab gussets from Fishmouth Fabworks.

last two up front pices of tube tied into the shock hoops. Engine still looks like it can be removed from the top.

Doesnt look too bad naked.

Plan forward is to mockup the front two-piece driveshaft once my tubing comes in with the WOD carrier bearing mount. Then ill run the exhaust out the drivers side, then i will tear everything down for welding. I plan to still weld on the smaller stuff once thats done. Chassis will be semi-flat black rattle can for easy touch up.

last night i mocked up some door bars. I was on the fence about running them because my dad usually rides with me and I didnt want to have him crawling over them everytime he gets in or out. He has a bum knee, but safety first. I feel this is an adequate compromise and still provide rigidity to the A/B pillars.

Also added some additional down tubes to connect the A-Pillar to the front frame near the shock hoops. Only have a few more tubes to put in then the tubework is finished.

Finished up protecting all the wiring on the Taco. I feel better about it. Not as Sexy as what Alex is doing though.

Thanks guys. My shop is my escape. I was lucky enough to be able to build it earlier this year and its been so worth it. So much more room for activities.

Added the last two tubes to the chassis yesterday (not including the door bars or the center console 1.5" tubes) and did a lot of welding. Still more welding to do.

The welding never stops it seems. When I was doing the backhalf of my old rig I would think I was done.. get under it for something and find a tube I missed. lol And mine was no where nearly as complicated as what you are doing. Have fun! :)
