Is this your trans or a spare one?

My trans and so far it is all going by the book. I am just taking it really slow so as to not get in a hurry and screw something up. I already checked with my boss about taking tomorrow off if need be so I am not going to make a late night $$$ mistake.

Got my hopes up. Took it for a test drive and it got hot after just a few miles on the highway. Had to pull over and made it to a grocery store near the house. Wife came and got me and I will pick it up later. Its not spraying coolant all over the engine bay so that is a good thing. Looking like it might be the water pump and that is $425 labor according to my mechanic friend. Hoping there is something small I am overlooking. Will look at it again one night this week. Tired of dealing with it and some other BS from the weekend.

First test drive was a few miles around the neighborhood. The transmission shifted nice and clean with no lazy shifting like it comes from the factory with. I checked the fluid level and went on a longer test drive onto the highway. It shifted great again and really held behind the supercharger nicely all the way up to 4,500 rpm before shifting. I was smiling nicely. The transmission check after the second drive showed I was still about 2 quarts low probably and I have a small leak at the front of the trans pan. I'm beat today though; that might be an issue for tomorrow.

Comparing my Transgo install, solenoid replacements, and overall slow pace today I am pretty happy it only took me 10ish hours to knock this out. There are a lot of write ups where it took two people a full day or a single person two days. I wonder what I forgot to do.

Crystal clear sound all the way up to around 95%. The 8" handles the lows well, but is an 8" sub. The 6.5s and 6x9s put out an astonishing about of bass and make up for it though...

I'd do it again

awesome

I replaced the shift boot and intake on the tow pig. Ditched the K&N and went with the ford AIS severe duty intake. Went from hearing nothing in the cab but the exhaust and turbo whine to being able to hear my radio again. Money well spent :)

There is a guy I work with on some racing and special projects - He is well aware of the fatigue that is caused by excessive noise. I am certain he learned it from a guy that spent an inordinate amount of time in a race car during famous endurance races. :) Quiet is good. :)

I found the coolant leak on the Honda. There is a smaller hose that comes off the thermostat housing and goes into the engine. At least that is where it appears to connect. Can't find it anywhere on the net or what it's even called. Honda dealer emailed me a diagram since they are not sure either. Going to compare the diagram to the car tonight. May need to remove some things to get a better view of it to confirm and or take pics.

@tex 6cyl or 4cyl? I can snap pics of mine if that would help?

looks good. Perfect placment of the subs IMO.

Just to bust your stones....what no no Keystone patches? How quickly we forget our roots lol

It's perfect placement if you don't ever need to access your stock jack. For a completely stock soccer mom car, they'd be fucked if they needed to get to their jack and tools.

Lower heater core hose has been replaced. Tight fit where it connects to the engine block. No leaks and temp held steady for 20 minutes at idle with AC. Will drive it tomorrow and see how it does to make sure.
Discovered during all this that the heat does not get hot. Either the heater core or its the heater control valve. going to get a labor quote on the heather core replacement tomorrow when I see my mechanic friend for a beer.
