What have you done to your ride lately?

I used to remember EVERYTHING. Last few years it's been frustrating that I can't anymore. Not getting that old or anything, but it's lame that I don't have full access to my knowledge center I used to wonder how my dad could forget how to do things that I knew how to do when he was the one who taught me. I know now, and it only gets worse

Mocked up the front today. The elongated holes are out of adjustment and it's still too close to the fenders I think? Any idea what to use to bore the holes out a bit? I was thinking carbide bit for a die grinder?

Yes - Too close. Alternatively, I have trimmed a buddy's All Poo bummer so that it would flex right past the flare. If you do elongate the holes you will either want to weld and redrill or drill some new holes with near interference fit hardware to lock it in - ESPECIALLY if you are going to use a winch.

The actual hub and bearing is easiest to do in a press it can be done with a high lift but you have to be careful to square it up or you'll destroy the new bearing. Getting the hub bearing assembly out of the spindle was cake i just used a slide hammer with a hub pulling attachment. You can also leave the bearing bolted to the knuckle and use the same hub pulled to knock the hub out of the bearing

dam...after almost a year of waiting he could of at least oiled the metal. That sucks. I'd just take it and get it sand blasted and powder coated......after you make the holes longer

edit: and it looks like yours is short on the driver side as well .........I hope thats not the case because Lurry, Virgil, and I told him about that issue years ago when we got ours out of his first batch.

I will go pick up some carbide bits this week and hope I can squeeze another 1/4" out of the mount. It is really only the drivers side, the passenger side is better.

The entire slotted hole adjustments on the bumper are in the opposite direction (i.e can only go up from here) making them pretty much useless

I will go pick up some carbide bits this week and hope I can squeeze another 1/4" out of the mount. It is really only the drivers side, the passenger side is better.

Like I told you you would of been fine with a standard bumper cause his 'slotted holes' are off. I'm down as far as I can go and I still hit my fenders occasionally. My bumper on your truck would be perfect.

It's bolt on... but with that bolt on, you will find out how strong your fenders, flares, headlights and other body parts are! ... or aren't. Looking good though.

Yeah - I hate to tell you but I've had min close before and it was a big mistake. I personally would have at least 3/4" unless you never plan on flexing that puppy!

Nah the welds all look good there is a couple parts that have some splatter but I can deal with that, no blowouts at least. Also one of the spare tire carrier bolt threads got a little fucked up in shipping, I ran it through with a tap and it seems to be fine now.

Actually now that I think about it the one for me is made more for like a 1.5 or 2" body lift, maybe I'll have to go higher

I clocked my winch earlier to get better access to the handle. Now just need to paint and should be set

Yeah the passenger side is a little over 1/2" right now and drivers is too close for comfort. You know it will be flexed out and I'd like my fenders to live to see another day. I'll hope the carbide bits will allow for some more adjustments, why couldn't the stupid alignment holes align, oh yeah that would be too easy

And when (not if) the front part of the flares start to pop off, screw the clips 'cause the razor thin connectors that the clips hold on to will be busted - use GE black silly cone - it works perfectly and holds about 50x more than those silly clips!

In your parts, I would seriously consider powder coat or even galvanizing (that would be perfect!!!).

I am going to coat them with some POR15, I've had them on my skids and they are holding up great. I will top coat with rattle since POR15 is not UV resistant. I may end up top coating with a spray or roll on bedliner still not sure yet.

Seriously, did you see my writeup on silly cone cure? It works great! and if you do it right, very clean. And if you do it wrong, you can just peel off the excess with your finger!

You really don't need the blue tape. The silicone cleans up right off of the truck just using a soft cloth - on the last truck that I did, I just sacraficed a micro fiber cloth.

I have not but thanks for posting the link! So far the flares aren't too bad just the first few mounts are busted. I am in the process of making a set of "high clearanced" flares to let me stuff some 35s on, so these blue flares will be heading to the trashcan anyhow
