285/75/16s and sliders. Looks much better than the 265/70/16 and chrome "need bars". Sliders need a coat of paint but I'll take care of that next week. I wasn't sure exactly how "tucked in" the sliders were supposed to be but I like the positioning as it didn't require trimming the legs at all. They sit even with the outside edge of the fender flare and there's about 1" of clearance when the doors are open. Should be plenty to allow for opening of the door under flex. Though I don't think they're going to flex enough to notice. Also pictures of the bumper since I don't think I ever posted any. I have the grille and headlight hoops but haven't decided if I'm going to put them on or not. Only thing missing is the BudBuilt skid. I threw it in the corner of the shop after I painted it and forgot about it. Oh well, the stock one should get me through the weekend.

Buddy works next door to the yota dealer. Had him pick me up the wheelbearing seal. I have an oem bearing. Just need to assemble it. Insurance is sending a tow truck in 45 minutes.

Pulled apart the drivers side wheel bearing. Found my OEM bearing assembly I bought from Drew many moons ago. Could have sworn I bought some seals to go with it. Can't locate them.. not a problem my buddy is bringing one over in about an hour. Cut open the box and viola! not only did I buy one.. but I bought 2 spare seals. lol Well now I have 2 more spares it seams. :) Time to put this shit back together.

Nice recovery. Personally I love AAA Premier! :)

I hope to have my axles back on Monday. I passed the job of pressing on the new bearings, new cups, new backing plate and new seals to Yotamasters. I kinda like having someone help me. I plan on putting them back in Monday night. :) I have nearly no time these days so the help is nice. :)

Well fudge!

So I get the old bearing out no problems. Easy peasy. Damn thing won't come apart! I cannot get the old bearing off the hub. I mean its still in one piece. I took a grinder to it and tried to cut it off. No luck.. but I did manage to get all the bearings out. Its too wide to fit in my press so I tried to build a frame to hold the hub off the presses frame... no love. SO I said fuckit. I'll just put my trail spare in the thing to get it going and then order up some and just build a whole new assembly. So I put the trail spare in... dumb ass me puts the brake shield on backwards. So I pull it apart and the fucking bearing is NOT coming out of the spindle! Fucked with it for a good 30 minutes and it came out. So I put the shield on the right way, put the hub back and and not sure. I'm guessing that I was missing the seal on the backside of the unit bearing. But I thought it was there. Looked just like the one I pulled out. So now I'm hot, pissed off and I don't want to fuck with it any more. I think I'll just order the hub, the other seals, the bolts/studs and build a new one.

There is a guy on tardworld that will sell you a completed deal. :) I now have a spare ready to go. :) I thought you did too.
