What have you done to your ride lately?

The shop he's talking about. I mean I see how they stay in business - they charge a metric shit ton for what they do. But I don't see how they keep a customer base doing that. They charged a guy $1000 to bolt on his rear bumper on his 5th gen 4Runner. And it took them 3 days. The same exact bumper Rich has.

Interesting, most of the stuff I've heard about them has been pretty positive. They're only doing the rebuild on the 3rd itself, and their pricing seemed very reasonable to me. I'm doing the install and axle housing mods myself, and they didn't have a problem with that.

That's Mr Asshole to you
Richard asked them how much to install my CBI rear bumper when it comes in. That's when they said they would have to see it and that they charged $1000 for the install of that SSO bumper. That one is a bolt on and no cutting required.
I will just have to make time to get it done since I refuse to pay $1000. I was thinking $300 or so but guess I was wrong.

How many hours does a bumper install like that usually take? I haven't done one before.

@SecretSquirrel

I helped about half the day with his SSO install with 4 people working on different parts of the install. It was a much bigger project than I expected.

Sometimes you have to enjoy the moments you get. I need to enjoy a cold beer on the porch a little more often.

This. We all expected an easier install than we got. Granted, notching the frame for the install took some time

Replaced the fuel filter and flushed the fuel bowl and installed a new glow plug relay in the tow pig. The ford OEM one is known for being undersized so I upgraded to the Stancor relay rated for 200 amp continuous and 600 amp inrush :)

I used one of those for my second battery.

I have a relay that is hooked up so that when I turn the ignition on, the second battery connects to the alternator. I have a 00 cable going to the batt behind the rear driverside seat. It has worked flawlessly for 7 years. 200 amps. I have contemplatEd removing the woofer and moving both batteries to the passenger side as not to add to the lean issue.

I forget the size of the rear batt but it fits in the storage bin and allows the jump seat to be used.

I am also contemplating using the second battery as the starter batt. The cable has something like a 3% voltage drop. That way the 65 could just be used for the fridge.
