What have you done to your ride lately?

Time for the yearly spark plug change. This year I am a few weeks early but I wanted to knock it out before the Arkansas trip. So far I am pretty happy with the looks of the old plugs. None of them are excessively worn, no black oil deposits, and no blistering. New plug on left for comparison.

One reason the blower sucks - servicing plugs and injectors.

On the same note, I had a guy called me asking what the OE plugs were - He wanted to stay stock. When I told him 3 NGK and 3 Densos, he thought I was messing with him! lol

The plugs are not that bad even with the supercharger on top. I just use more 3/8s extensions until the ratchet is above everything. I have swapped plugs on much worse motors. The biggest thing is just making sure to get all the tools laid out first and gapping all the plugs before hand so that once I start turning wrenches all I have to do is turn wrenches. I can knock it all out in about 45 mins.

On a 4.0? Nice. How about injectors?

Negative - my 3.4 and I have not dealt with the injectors yet. When that time comes I will probably send the s/c off for a full rebuild at the same time.
Yeah I want to replace the nose dealio sometime soon. :)

I am really glad I kept my old nose cone when I bought a new one. Prices on them are crazy now. I am debating getting it rebuilt with ceramic bearings when the time comes. I am liking the low heat aspect of them.

Well.. poop. My hydraulic crimper won't open wide enough for 1/0 gauge wire terminals. Amazon Prime to the rescue. Ordered some giant crimpers that will be here tomorrow.

While I wait I will wire up the Garmin Montana power and power for the phone charger cord. Would wire up that rear camera but I ran out of shielded 2 conductor 16 ga wire. 250' will arrive tomorrow as well.

Since I have a trip to San Antonio coming up next weekend that requires me to park in a parking garage I had to remove the RTT tonight. My sammich maker is not a body builder so I need to start working on a way to move the RTT on and off the 4Runner in a much easier way. I also did a drain and fill on the transmission fluid pan to remove the cheap transmission fluid and refill with some Lucas fluid.

Would ya like to meet up for a dinner, La Margaritas is one of better downtown mex restaurants probably 3/4 mile from where you will be

Well I ran into bit of an issue changing plugs,
I started Friday afternoon and stopped, the passenger side plug near fire wall would not budge, I did not want to break the plug off so I sprayed and left penetrating oil for 48hrs and it was a bit tight for about half turn then it threaded out normal this morning before we headed off to church, Thank you Jesus!

There might be an issue with that one. I had the same issues, and I had put anti-seize in there when I swapped them out last time. But it moved and then got tight as fuck.. I sprayed it... let it sit and then "in and out" a dozen times until I got past the stuck spot. New one went in without any issues. Scary though.

Probably not this trip; going to be spending all the non-work time with my mother-in-law. A benefit is her company is picking up the meals, drinks, and hotel room.

The plugs near the fire wall run the hottest temperature wise, I'm going to torque it less this time

Fair enough, we can't judge you and what you do with her, but sounds like your pimping yourself out again, but hey $20 is $20 plus meals, drinks and room...

Guess what I just found? Another 100' spool of the wire I needed. LOL. Guess I'll just have more.

Well try and make it over La Margaritas anyways, most of Mex food on the river walk is nasty.

All these trips are not going to pay for themselves. I think the girls like to eat at La Margaritas.

Made a bit of progress today. Pulled a crapload of excess wire out from under the dash. Its WAY cleaner under there now. I also managed to get the factory switched out of the upper 3 holes (fogs/locker/inverter). Got the Garmin wired, phone was not wired yet. But pretty much everything that isn't going to the SPOD was connected minus a few non essentials.

That's Mr Asshole to you
I washed, waxed, and changed oil in the Honda. Then took pics and listed for sale.
Also changed the oil in the 4Runner and washed it since it was filthy from a few trips to the ranch.

Threw some Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06's on the Subaru. They have one of the craziest asymmetrical treats Ive ever seen. Every block is siped with chamfered ridges + thousands of small ridges within the rain groves and they have multiple wear detectors for checking tread depth visually. Real reason I got them is their winter rating and tough sidewall that extends past the rim of my wheel for some added curb protection should I hit one (I'm due to smack one after almost 3yrs of owning it). Also my AWD eats up the outsides of tires so hopefully these staggered treads that are thicker on the outside edges help out...along with proper rotation for this set.
