She gets good at those I will bring down my 4Runner for the same work. She like fancy juice boxes? Pretty sure the Boss Lady will not want me bringing her Fiesty Blonde. lol

Blower motor in Taco only had high and off... figured blower motor resister. Ordered a new one (OEM part) and I had Kenna swap it out. She fits under the dash better. :D Anyhow, not sure but it didn't fix the issue. I went and doubled checked the cannon plug an its snapped in place. Any ideas? I'm going to try and clean the cannon plug with electrical cleaner.... Update.. SUCCESS!

So both lower control arms have been replaced with brand new lowers. The FSM directions are a real kick in the nuts; but I found some directions that cut off a couple of hours. The 4Runner is now at the auto shop to steering rack replaced and then an alignment. Big props to Camelback Toyota for getting the parts to me as fast as they did. I ordered them late on Tuesday and they were delivered Thursday at 9:45 am.

I am going to keep the LCAs for TOR parts inventory. So the next 3rd gen that needs lower bushings swapped out can replace the bushings before taking off the lowers to save some wrench day time.

You didn't want to swap out the steering rack, while you had everything else apart?

I did not have the proper fitting wrenches and the the ends were acting like they are seized. I went to mess with them before and had no luck.

Fuck changing the steering rack. That was the worst thing I've done on my Tacoma. I'd gladly pay someone to do it next time.

Kind of my thoughts. The $200 is worth it. I did the bulk of the possible labor by swapping out LCAs that they wanted 7 hrs for.

Took the front end apart. Can't find anything wrong other than I'll need new outer tie ends soon. Not sure what the growling noise was yesterday morning. CVs are fine and wheel bearings don't have any play in them. All bushings and boots are in one piece other than the boots on the OTREs. I'm going to keep a close eye on it for now and hope all is well. I should be hitting 150k around the end of this year. I plan to replace the LCAs and hub/bearing assemblies then as a PM item. No record of either being changed since new. I'll probably have the Kings rebuilt/revalved then as well since I'll have to have the lower coilovers eyelets changed to accommodate the new LCAs anyway .

So I took my 81 in this past week to get an inspection sticker. When I got there I had to wait 15-20 minutes. In that time I was just looking the truck over and I discovered the horn didn't work.. FUCK. SO I dicked with it a little and nothing. Brought it home without the sticker and decided to mess with it today. Pulled it in the garage and the horn works fine. Fuck.. now to troubleshoot an intermittent issue.

Appears this is what mine is doing. I replaced the horns with a set of yellow Hellas and no joy. It does make some attempt but I think there is too much resistance in the ground. So I will be doing this. Guess I need to find some discharged .22LR casings.

What a fucking pain in the ass. So I rewired the new horns, ran a new larger power wire to them from a Blue Sea fuse block (none of those old school glass fuses). Discovered that someone rigged a thin (18ga) wire from the column through the firewall and to the horns as the ground from the steering wheel. If I push on the horn button I can hear something making noise.... but its just a sort of clicking (larger horns probably require more juice). Maybe its broken down somewhere along the run. Ok, ran a new wire and it appears the horn button is intermittent. New one is on order should be here Monday. I cleaned up this one for now and if I push it "just right" and hold my tongue just so... it beeps. Well hey at least this should be the last time I fuck with it since I replaced everything in the system. LOL

Oh and also along with the horn button a K&N cleaning kit is arriving. This little fucker is nasty.

Honestly I wouldn't change it either without a lift.

Reminds me the time I change all the trailer wire cause I had a short, which end up being a short in one those cheap brake light bulbs

Well the wiring was pretty gheto fab to start with and the horn was a POS. So I don't feel too bad replacing everything. Hell the horn button was the newest thing on the truck in the system. lol

We did the same thing with my dad's trailer. Rewired everything from where the 4pin connector spliced into the wiring all the way back. Turned out it was the 4 pin connector .

Just had a bit of maintenance come up on the Tacoma. Nothing like breaking on the side of I10 outside Lafayette La. I had to muscle it 6 miles down the road to the dealer. I was lucky they were close. New front differential new OEM UCAs, and new CVS. Thank god Nathan had a a spare front diff and I had the UCAs. It was still a 1300 dollar tab.

It's only called maintenance before it breaks down. What happened anyways?
