At the dealer for the airbag recall and alignment. I cant wait to hear what they tell me I "need" from doing their "courtesy multi point inspection".

I love when they do that shit to me. I always tell them “well I’ll take it back to my shop and have my mechanics look at it”. 9x out of 10 its BS. Buddy of mine is the service writer and I let her know when their guys are trying to pull a fast one on customers.

Passenger side brake line has been doing good, no chafing on the line.

Had to add a 2nd cable tie to the drivers side brake line, there was sign of a little chafing on the line.

Replace air filter housing, swap bolts over to plug drain holes, the tabs become brittle over time and break.

Finally got my leaf springs finished up after I acquired the right bushings. If anyone is interested, the trail gear rear spring bushings will fit the OEM toyota springs as well as the Dakars even though it says on their page they only fit TG springs.

The greasable bolt is quite a bit beefier than the OEM front hanger bolt

Honed the holes out a bit to accept the larger bolt

Shouldn't have to worry about squeaky rubber bushings again :)

New ubolt flip and axle shims

Back on the ground and ready to roll, just need to clean up the axle housing a bit from the diff oil that I spilled months ago filling it up lol

Well I have to tell on myself. I knew I needed to do an oil change; but not this badly. The 4Runner rolled over 311k miles yesterday coming home from Houston. I would have sworn I did an oil change in December; guess I did not.

Yeah - will kick my own ass over this later.

Ha. At least you didn't let 5.5 qts of Royal Purple run straight thru the engine and onto the pavement. :sniper:

Fixed my e-locker, so the crappy 8" rear end will live on for a few more years I hope :) Not sure what the issue was, maybe the motor had skipped a gear or something but it wouldn't unlock before no matter how much I tried to lock and unlock it. All is good now so I guess that's all that matters :). I pulled it apart and cleaned the housing a bit then re-installed.
Here's a test to show how much the spur gear rotates when it's actuated, looks like around 180 degrees.

For shits and grins I tested my spare one, and it rotates about the same

Where it mounts to the 3rd member was full of gunk and starting to corrode a bit, took some persuasion to get it removed, so I re-coated the area where it butts up against the 3rd member with anti-seize
IMG_0137.JPG

Re-installed the factory "guard" that comes on it
IMG_0139.JPG

Then finally took the time to mount the e-locker armor I've had sitting around for about 8 years

While I was out in the shop I finally decided to fix up the Ford steering for good, ditched the old stabilizer in favor for a dual mounted king bling :D

PMF fab kit is pretty nice, the packaging and powder coating finish was also very good
IMG_0141.JPG

Say goodbye to the stock 17 year old leaking stabilizer, don't think it was really doing much anyway

IMG_0146.JPG

This should help dampen out any of the road bumps, the steering feedback seemed to have gotten a bit worse once I went to 35's so hopefully I can take it for a test drive and I'm sure there will be a noticeable difference :)

From the pics you posted of the old steering arm stabilizer, the stabilizer kinda looks bent to me. Could just be the pics?

Seems like most people who have good luck with the e locker actuator recommend taking it off and greasing it once a year. I try to engage mine every few months to help keep it working. So far I have had good results.

Got my stereo back up and running again. Holy shit this DM608 sounds fantastic. The DQX was amazing but this is better.

Well I sent my old DQX back to AudioControl to see if they could fix it.... and they did. Guy who called me to say its was fixed says that its pretty rare they can fix these so I feel blessed :) #Fakebook post

But yeah its fixed.. I'll hang onto it.

Fuck you rotating photo.
