One good thing about a cold-ish rainy day, I shit all the doors on my shop and work on my shit lol

Put on that Ready lift leveling kit I ordered and had my new tires mounted. Ended up with about 5 1/2 lift in the front counting tires and about 2 1/2 in the rear with just tires. I’ll take it to the alignment shop in the morning.

Seemed a little better then stock, but I only went about a mile through town to drop it off at the alignment shop

I took the front air dam off this morning and cut it down. A lot of people have been ordering the 2wd version and putting it on, guess they are scared of a cut off wheel lol

Mine came off within 2 months of purchase, I knew it wouldn’t survive the 2 weeks we spent in big bend for that Christmas.

Started on the wheel bearing and hub assembly and ECGS bushing tonight.

Got everything off without any major issues up to the axle. No solid whacks with the hammer to either a screw driver or crowbar. Sleeping kids room right above the garage. Gave it a few light thumps at an awkward angle without any luck.

Last picture I took was before removing the hub.

.... but since everyone loves pictures...

Jack stands are under there. They're camouflage :asz:

In all seriousness, I don't get under the truck without jack stands.

Any chance to use some heat to warm it up and then cool it to pop it loose? Or a hub puller from Auto Zone/ Oreillys.

That's Mr Asshole to you
When I helped Casey with his front diff he had an axle that was a mother fucker. He broke out the big pry and it did the trick. Make sure the tie rod and everything else is disconnected

As for popping axles out. I got some 1/8" steel cable, made a loop and attached a sledgehammer to the other end. It removes axles post haste.

Ok, I have driven it about 100 miles now, highway and dirt roads. The ride is a little better then stock IMO, the new tires have pretty much zero road noise compared to the stock Michelin‘s. The only thing bugging me is my Speedo being off 5mph so unlike the Taco I’m actually going to fix this and already have a fix coming from Hypertec. I also noticed at highway speeds that the stock steering dampener does not like the 35’s very well so I ordered a heavier super lift one from 4WP this morning (Bilstein does not have one out for ‘17+ that I could find) And to help make up for any lost mpg/power (and mostly because wtf not) I have a stealth module on order that should be here Monday.

I learned from the last one to just start with the hub puller. The hub came off with little fuss this time. As for the reassembly, I can't remember if I used grease or anti-sieze on the other side.

Or are you saying there is a way to use that to remove the axle?

When I helped Casey with his front diff he had an axle that was a mother fucker. He broke out the big pry and it did the trick. Make sure the tie rod and everything else is disconnected

Why do I need to disconnect the tie rod and everything else? I think I have everything pretty out of the way.

Noted. I'll probably go rent a slide hammer before it comes to that.

And ironic as it sounds - make sure the CV axle is level. I fought with one for about 20 mins and once I held it up level is popped out nice and easy.

I was thinking about this last night and wondered if that would help. I plan on having my wife hold it and give just a little pull pressure. I'll make sure she holds it level.

There is someone else lined up to borrow the ECGS removal tool after me. He's supposed to come pick it up today, which is why I started last night. He said he has a slide hammer he can bring over if I don't get it out before then.
