What have you done to your ride lately?

I think mine were glowing afterwards.

The extra weight of the trailer probably didn’t help.

I am not talking about that gumball run through the hills. I will say my rotors and pads were replaced a month later due to need; not want.

I did replace my tires today. I have been going back and forth on size and finally decided to drop some weight and go back to a 265/75/16 again. I stayed with the Cooper Discoverer ATP tires though. I have a few other maintenance items to finish up asap before a trip.

It’s quite easy, I add things to list that I don’t already do, mine was to quit smoking, quit vaping and drinking, hell 2 out of 3 is not bad, Praise Jesus for these Coldbeers!

in that case #1 needs to be take a "real vacation". Last time I took a good one was when I bought the Subaru 4-5 years ago and took it into Canadia.

Back on topic - just changed air and oil filters in the Subaru tonight after work to prep for tomorrows trip to the Pocono Mts.

Mobil 1 in the eye sucks. No idea how it made it by my glasses but it did, so Ive been washing my eye out the past 10 minutes. First time she ever spit oil out that fast. Stupied sideways drains

She just hit 75k

No work on the truck tonight. Went to my parents' and dug the 22R out of the corner of the shop so someone can come pick it up this weekend. The guy works for Shrockworks or something and offered me items as trade. Already have a frotn bumper and sliders and I'm not a fan of Shrockworks rear bumper for 1st gens. So I ended up with a full set of skids for the Tacoma... radiator, engine, trans, and transfer case skids. I've been rocking just the stock engine skid and nothing else. I'm sure my already terrible mileage will tank even more with the added weight but in the words of the millenials... YOLO!

ok, I got 33k out of that last brake job, I found the date and box and I put those on before the 2017 Trip to the ozarks, and it probably didn’t help with @Silverback deciding that we should take faster than normal speeds in that downhill Slalom course, that had everyone’s brakes smoking lol

Looking back at my maintenance log, I am at 31,xxx miles on these. That's not very good...

I’m good with the 33k, I’m not easy on brakes to begin with, and it only cost $50 to do it this time. Easy 20min job, so if I replace them early again, no problem.

Ordered what's hopefully my last order for the truck. All the nuts, bolts, and miscellaneous hardware I need to replace. If anyone needs to order parts, look into Norwalk Toyota out in Commiefornia. Better prices and shipping than Camelback. And they have a 3% off promo code: IH85P

Started to work on the Taco. My neck is still killing me so I am gonna take it slow and do just a little at a time. Got the wheels/tires off. Got the calipers free from the spindle. Brakes surprisingly look great.. but I think those hills in Arkansas caused the pads to glaze over a little. Stopping power is not there like it should be. But those brakes have over 30k on them and the pads are still very thick and the rotors look damn near perfect. Got to use my new Milwaukee 3/8ths Fuel ratchet. I really should have pressure washed this thing before I started.

I cannot imagine why your brakes would be acting up after running through the mountains dragging that trailer at 55-60 mph. Nope; cannot imagine at all.

where are the springs on those pads? Did you already remove them?

I've had em fall out before. That'll be a good reason why your brakes have been sucking. All make sure you clean up the rods that hold the brake pads in and put some anti-sieze on em.

So the rods I replaced with some grade 8 bolts with nylocks on the other end and yes, anti-seize on the slid. They did not stick in any way removing them. The stock little rods with the c-clip came out once and backed into the rim.... was making a helluva noise... I decided to ditch them. These work better and won't come out. But fuck, I can't remember the last time I had those springs on there. LOL
