my only issue is the heat to the transfer case, i feel the reason they engineered the exhaust to go down and away from the transfer was to keep the heat off of it. im not sure what the extra heat will do to the overall life length of the transfer components. havent really cared enough to look to see where to route it with out hugging the transfer.

I'm sure the main reason for it being ran like that from the factory is from a service viewpoint. It's easier to remove that stuff if the exhaust is down out of the way.

Route it behind the t-case and you won't have any problems.

This, I don't think the heat is an issue otherwise there would already be some sort of heat shield there.

Yeah, the way they ran Richs looks to be good and you will get better exhaust flow over stock.
