Driver's side LCA is swapped out. Pretty sure the Passenger side will go faster than 2.5 hours since I know what I am doing this time. I ended up skipping the spindle gussets (again) but will schedule them for when I do the LBJs again; if not sooner since I am getting pretty good at working on the front suspension of the 4Runner. I also want to try to get the rear axle sway bar lift point welded on tonight as well. That might be a weekend job after all this though.

$Runner is back home from the local auto shop. They did manage to swap the steering rack and do an alignment. When I picked it up they admitted they did not do a real good job on the alignment because they do not have much experience with lifted vehicles. So I plan to get to Tandem in Ft Worth this week to get a proper alignment done.

Now to make matters worse the CV angles were to much after the alignment and were popping just driving straight. I ended up going home to get the tools to lower the ToyTec shocks in a parking lot. Once it came down an inch on the shock (so ~2" of height) it drove great with no popping. I plan to check it after a day of driving and possibly dropping it another inch.

How did the ride height change so much from just changing out control arms?

Ride height went up a little; but the bigger issue was the tire angle becoming more up and down.

Wouldn't more positive camber decrease CV angle though? At least on the outer joint.

Yeah - weird and I was not sure of it myself but my front suspension was pretty up there after all the new parts. So I adjusted it back down to where it has a bit of a rake like before when everything was fine. I test drove it and it still was not good. So I called O'Reilly's and secured a replacement for this CV since I just installed it last week. So back into the CV swap I go...

So the front tire issue has continued with the new CV axle. I am about to pull the clamshell drain plug and see if I have metal pieces in it. If I do I am swapping out the IFS axle this evening/ tomorrow.

Damn that hill really kicked my ass.

And you're running 4.30's...that will not be an easy find/replacement. I didn't get to got to the JY this weekend but I now there were a couple elock'd 4runners. I can check door codes for a front 4.30 next time I'm out there?

Thankfully I still had the 4.10 IFS axle that I took out over the summer. I am probably going to just regear the rear axle to 4.10 and be done with it. It is a lot cheaper and quicker time wise. The only real difference I saw between 4.10 and 4.30 was a small drop in MPG.

Nice, I got my 4.10 rear from ECGS. Quick and easy and you can't beat the warranty.
