Its hot... fuck that.

& thats why I love it up here vs your guys desert.

92* in the day but 68* at night when I was camping this weekend.

Ive had my house for a decade think I turned the AC on once. My electric bill was $23 last month.

All joking aside - screw tents. I'm done with them. Either sleeping in my hammock or on the ground from here on out. No more glam crap - just packing light so I can carry more beer :)

If I can remember how to post pics on here Ill throw some in of my new set up tonight after I mow my lawn in the crazy 90* heat :)

Having lived in both, I can deal with 60 days of heat much easier than 120 days of grey depressing cold...

I think my electric bill is 23 a day. Damn old house. It's cool when I sleep though

Picked up a Fenix PD35 to replace my Fenix TK35 that was stolen. Like the new one much better. Smaller, lighter, and plenty bright.

I ordered up an Alps Mountaineering twin size Velocity Air mattress because I'm tired of not getting good sleep while camping. Will test it out Labor Day weekend.

Probably you just needed to upgrade up your beer to lone star and drink more in general.

x2 on Alps. I have one of their self inflating pads (comfort series, I think) and it's awesome. Considering buying one of their tents.

Over the years I have done a good bit of backpacking and I am totally old school these days. I have the inflatable ones but choose to bring the tried-and-true closed cell foam pads since they never get a leak or 'let me down' in the middle of the night. Ever try to find a leak on a cold night in one of those fuckers? I ended up gathering leaves and sticking it under my tarp. :)

I'm a fan of Alps too. Got some self inflating pads already, but I tend to roll off them. I don't sleep still much.

Also picked up one of their Rendezvous camp chairs last month, mostly for the beach. It sits real low.

Get a Big Agnes bag with the sleeping pad holder built in. I have one for every person in the family along with a Nemo Cosmo Air with Pillowtop airmattress. Its so damn comfy. 3" thick air-mattress with a 1" thick memory foam top. Has the footpump built into the air-mattress. Daughters air-mattress is the short version but it fits her "teen" Big Agnes sleeping bag perfect.

Check out the Big Anges Park series. They are HUGE! Compare them with a standard bag from any of the other top tier makers and they are way bigger... Shoulder area is 10"+ or more. Shoulder girth for most 15-20 degree bags is between 61 and 65".. The Big Agnes Hog Park is 80". Its NICE to be able to roll around in the bag and not come off the pad.

True story on the Big Agnus. I have a double wide I like to use. I do use a mummy for backpacking but hiking to exhaustion and no or little alcohol allows me to sleep in them. For wheeling trip? Fig get about it!

Good point, my issue I guess is the mummy bag I use. It's my army sleeping bag so its free. Been using it for years. Maybe the problem I have with getting tangled up while tossing is the fact it's a mummy sleeping bag. Might have to look at getting a new one.

Yeah Roger turned me on to Big Agnes bags. You can thank him once you try them out. You won't turn back. It's like an ARB fridge. Not cheap. But worth every penny.

I had a pillow top king size mattress a few years ago. Every day I awoke with shoulder pain. Roger Aaron and I went to Big Bend and I slept in that air mattress and not once did I wake up in pain. Came back and bought and new Tempurpedic mattress.
