Well I don't think that company was one of them. And did you know that Abraham Lincoln once said "16% of all companies that claim to be made in the US are really made in other countries"? I read it on the internet.![]()
if it contains aluminum it was not made in the USA 99.999999% of the time. Thats an easy way to tell. We have always been and always will be a importer of that raw material. Alcoa has 3-4 boxite mines in NA and they are crap. If not for gubment support for war efforts I suspect they would of been shut down decades ago or never opened to begin with. I always laugh when I see the USA stickers on the extruded aluminum I sell. You will have also seen many post by me linking to news blurbs about the US taking legal action against china for breaking anti dumping laws concerning aluminum .
All that US patriotism said..... We all did at one time own Japanese trucks and I also own a Japanese car. A ton of my camping gear is also from Japan. I am a big fan of their engineering, design and culture....+ the women. Has nothing to do with skin color or religion, although I do admire their religious architecture more than any other religion's and they raise very smart, productive children. I'm all for supporting local, if the local products are good. I am becoming more and more anti China just because I think we have been and will be in a cold war with them for a long time to come.
I try to buy the best product I can afford at the time - I do not care where it came from.
Actually, being a 'mfg' of medical parts. We were told a few times, charge us a bit more. They wanted to be able to say that 51% of their costs were from the US so that they could put Chinese junk in their equipment and call their products 'American Made.' This issue is much deeper than we might think.States "manufactured in the US"... that would tell me it was made here not simply assembled. This site indicates that 96% of the parts in the floor jack are made in the US. I would bet a simple jack stand is 100%.
Hein Werner Jack Review: American made floor jack
I use the NAPA ones. They are heavy duty and hold up my buses just fine. I've had zero issues with them.So now we all know, whats a good brand jackstand? I like the pin style recommended earlier just to keep it simple stupied w/less moving parts
Going to need to replace my 3 tons and 6 tons at some point.

If it has cast iron, steer clear of those, most stands that look like this below are cast in the adjuster bar. The pin stands are much safer, they just take a bit more time in setting them in place, but when your under a few thousand pounds, you can’t skimp on safety.

That is no way to keep repeat customers alive.
