What have you done to your ride lately?

The welding never stops it seems. When I was doing the backhalf of my old rig I would think I was done.. get under it for something and find a tube I missed. lol And mine was no where nearly as complicated as what you are doing. Have fun! :)

I hear ya. I trying to tackle one section at a time so i dont miss anything. I refuse to do any overhead welding (read that as i suck at it) so ill tackle all that when i take the drivetrain out and i can flip the chassis over.

Thanks, and not a clue. Im shooting for around 4-4250lbs. That seems to be the going weight for most. Im not too concerned as its not going to be a racer and the weight is down way low where i wanted it. Once i get the driveshaft mocked up in the front and the exhaust, I will take everything apart and see how light the chassis is by itself. Im hoping 2 people can move it with relative ease.

That's Mr Asshole to you
The steering wheel on the honda had seen better days. I hate those bulky slip on covers from the parts store and came across this cover on amazon.

Took a little over an hour to sew it on but I am pleased with the results.

Work continued over the washout of a weekend we had here in SE TX. I got the midship shaft mounted using the beefy Wide Open Design carrier bearing and mount. Everything uses 1410 joints.

Its a cute little guy

Now onto the exhaust which sucked. Due to the driveshaft being up so high at full bump i had to get creative to make my el cheapo EBAY shorty headers work. I cut the flange off and rewelded it at a better angle and built my y-pipe under the oil pan and out the drivers side. It was CLOSE but everything cleared. Thats when i tried to build a skid plate to protect it all. The exhaust was in the way of connecting the tube to the motor mounts. So after wasting 6+ hours trying to get everything to work, i said fuck it and tossed on a set of LS3 manifolds and will run 2.5" exhaust to Dynomax race bullets out each side. No y-pipe. I did have to cut and reweld the collector on the passenger side to clear the frame (used another drivers side manifold on the passenger side to clear the motor mounts).

Pics:
Y-pipe in all of the bastardized glory. It got real close to the oil filter which i also didnt like.

first skid attempt to cover the y-pipe. The passenger side tube to the motor mount would have been impossible.

Here is the new skid, cut down some. I got to move it up as well. The pic sucks but yall get the idea. The entire thing will be completely removable for easy oil pan access. Ill add some cross tubes to the skid as well. The skid is .188.

Went to price out some HDPE for an upcoming project. Only need 1/2 a sheet but they don't sell 4x4 sheets locally. Anyhow, they have 1/2 in stock (in black) for $152!! Ouch. I was also looking at 3/8's but that would have to be shipped in from Seattle and its $98 plus ~$120 for shipping! Fuck.. I need to go up to my local plastic supplier (there are 3 pretty close) and see what else that they have I can use.

Getting ready to drill holes for the rounded corners and then cut.

Passenger side is bolted in place. If the weather is willing tomorrow will see the driver side mounted and both wired up.

Nice, I think I could care less about the weather, I miss the sunlight after 6pm.

It's a little bit Canook chilly out so I started the fireplace tonight.

I have a similar set of those I never used. Bought them from a vendor on Pirate. They are nice ones. Will use them for a future project.

These are just the $20 lights off Amazon. They are good enough to do the job on this bumper. If I replace the rear bumper with a high clearance bumper I will move them to my trail rig.

Mine were a bit more, but look very similar. Regardless, I have plans for them.
