I just checked my air filter and damn its a lot more dirty than I thought. Guess I will order a few on Rock Auto.
Do not forget to share that discount code next week.
I think they are sealed units on that truck.Repack the exhaust bearings as well
I've been using a K&N air filter and I'm probably going to go back to a paper one. Keeping it clean and oiled is annoying
Mr. Big Spender over here!I made a huge purchase on RockAuto today. Wish I had had 5% off coupon. Then I'd be able to afford to retire someday.

I just went back to the OEM Toyota paper filter after using a K&N since I bought the truck new. Kept reading horror stories about them offroad since they aren't meant to filter out all the dirt from dusty trails apparently. For daily street driving they are fine.I've been using a K&N air filter and I'm probably going to go back to a paper one. Keeping it clean and oiled is annoying

If you go back to the stock Heavy duty air ram that was an option from Ford, they make 2" and 3" air filters for them. I would recommend going with the 3" deep filter. They both fit in the air box.I've read the same things about them. Going to be ditching the k&n on the f350 and going a different route as well. The filter media isn't fine enough and let's too many particles pass through.
I think it would be pertinent to let us know what you were using before the ticking.Ive been using Wix paper OE type filters ever since engine start ticking like crazy....
